J. MICHAEL BOWMAN is an attorney at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun, LLP in Indianapolis. He has had experience as an environmental health and safety manager. He also has experience at various chemical companies. He was an environmental department supervisor at Monsanto Chemical Company and an environmental engineer at Phillips Petroleum Company. Mr. Bowman is a member of the American (Environmental and Litigation sections) and the Indiana State (Environmental and Litigation sections) bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Chicago, his M.S. degree from Purdue University, where he was named the Don Bloodgood Outstanding Environmental Engineering Graduate Student, and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the Indianapolis School of Law. NORMAN R. NEWMAN is the senior partner in the Indianapolis office of Benesch/Dann Pecar. He graduated with distinction from the Indiana University School of Law. Mr. Newman practices in the areas of real estate law, environmental law and construction law and is the author of numerous articles on these subjects. He has also lectured on these topics for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), the International Council of Shopping Centers and other organizations. Mr. Newman is an adjunct professor at the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. He is also a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He is listed in Who's Who in American Law, The Best Lawyers in America and Indiana Super Lawyers 2010. TAMMY L. ORTMAN is a partner with the Indianapolis law firm of Mercer Belanger. She practices in the areas of real estate, title insurance defense, civil litigation and business transactions. Her practice focus is in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance defense, construction litigation, tax and exchange matters and general business. Ms. Ortman earned her B.S. degree from Butler University and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Thomas Cooley Law School. She is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section, Title Insurance Litigation Committee, and Taxation Section), the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana Land Title Association. JAMES L. SHOEMAKER is an attorney with Doyle Legal Corporation, P.C. His area of practice is general civil litigation with a focus on real estate and title disputes. Mr. Shoemaker is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association. He graduated, cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law- Indianapolis, where he was an articles editor on the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review. Mr. Shoemaker is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern districts of Indiana. He is a past speaker at a CLE on title examination.
