IVAR R. AZERIS handles estate planning and estate administration matters, including preparation of wills, trusts and other estate planning documentation. He is a partner with Clausen Miller P.C., who concentrates his litigation practice in corporate and commercial areas. Mr. Azeris has litigated contract, employment, trademark and security matters, and injunction proceedings. His real estate litigation experience includes foreclosure proceedings for both mortgage loans and mechanics' liens. In regard to wills and trusts, Mr. Azeris has litigated all aspects of estate administration proceedings, including will contests, trust construction suits and claim proceedings. He also has handled general tort litigation involving auto, common carrier, railroad, commercial and malpractice matters. Mr. Azeris has experience in the general corporate area, including establishing and advising closely-held corporations, sale and acquisition of corporate and other business entities, and negotiating employment and related agreements. He is experienced in real estate and real estate-related matters, including representation of buyers and sellers in both residential and commercial transactions, and lenders in regard to preparation of loan documentation. Mr. Azeris is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. At the Chicago Bar Association, he served on the Corporation and Business Law Committee and the Civil Practice Committee. He has lectured at bar association seminars on current legal issues. Mr. Azeris is a frequent lecturer on probate law to various business and legal professionals. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and his J.D. degree from Boston College Law School in Massachusetts. Mr. Azeris has been admitted to practice in Illinois since 1974 and to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 1975. He also is admitted as a member of the Federal Trial Bar. MICHAEL H. ERDE is the principal in the Chicago law firm of Michael H. Erde & Associates, P.C., where, since 1969, he has focused his practice on estate planning, elder law, probate, guardianships, business and corporate law, and real estate leases. He is certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation (the Supreme Court of Illinois does not recognize certification). Mr. Erde is a member of the Greater North Shore Estate Planning (treasurer), Financial Planners Council, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has been an instructor/lecturer for many years on estates and trusts, elder law and asset protection. Mr. Erde is an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School, where he teaches classes on elder law. Mr. Erde also has written numerous articles on wills, trusts and elder law issues. He earned his B.S.B.A. degree from Washington University, his J.D. degree from the University of Illinois, and has graduate credits in taxation from The John Marshall Law School. Mr. Erde founded the Asset Protection Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, where he was a former chairman and member. He also is a member of the Probate Committee of the local bar. Mr. Erde also is former chair of the Business and Financial Advice Section of the Illinois State Bar Association and former director of the Irene Josselyn Center for Mental Health. THEODORE E. FROUM is a member of The Law Offices of Theodore E. Froum, LLC, where his practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning and administration; asset protection; guardianship; premarital agreements; and corporate law. Mr. Froum has previously lectured on basic estate planning and other estate and tax planning topics. In addition, he was a guest speaker at a regional conference where he spoke on tax and estate planning for foreign nationals and he has lectured at various banks and insurance companies. Mr. Froum is the co-author of "Exempt Assets" a chapter in ILCLE's Asset Protection Treatise. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Brandeis University, his J.D. degree from Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University and his LL.M. degree, in taxation, from New York University. WILLIAM J. HACKER is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Clausen Miller P.C., where his practice is concentrated in the areas of contract surety, fidelity, construction litigation, estate planning and contested probate matters. He has spoken at ABA National Institutes and insurance industry seminars. Mr. Hacker has written a number of articles related to his areas of practice. He is a member of the Fidelity and Surety Committees of the American Bar Association (member sections on: Patent, Trademark and Copyright, Natural Resources Law, Tort, Insurance); the International Association of Defense Counsel; the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry; the Chicago Bar Association; and the Illinois State Bar Association (member, Young Lawyers Section). CYNTHIA HAYES HUTCHINS is the principal of The Law Office of Cynthia Hayes Hutchins, P.C., with offices in Wheaton. She has focused her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, trust law, wills, probate, guardianship, estate and gift taxation, probate administration, probate litigation, contested trusts and estates, Medicaid planning, trust administration, special needs trusts and advance directives. Ms. Hutchins is a past chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Committee and a past chair of the Tax Practice Committee of the DuPage County Bar Association. She is a frequent lecturer and writer of topics relating to estate planning, probate law, professional responsibility and Medicaid eligibility. Ms. Hutchins earned her B.A. degree at the University of Michigan and her J.D. degree, cum laude, at Northwestern University. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Illinois State and American bar associations. FREDRICK B. WEBER is an attorney, vice president and senior estate officer in the estate settlement unit of Private Wealth Management at J.P. Morgan in Chicago, Illinois, where he handles the administration of decedents' estates and trusts. Prior to joining JP Morgan in 2004, Mr. Weber practiced law for nearly six years in the areas of tax and estate planning, trust administration and probate. Between college and law school, he worked for three years in Washington, D.C., as legislative aide to the late U.S. Senator Paul D. Wellstone of Minnesota, where among other things, he advised the senator on finance and foreign relations committee issues. Mr. Weber has published articles in the Illinois Bar Journal and the Journal of Art and Entertainment Law at DePaul University College of Law. He also is a frequent lecturer for National Business Institute on topics relating to probate, estate and trust administration. Mr. Weber earned his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where he is a past chair of the Executive Committee of the Trust Law Committee. Mr. Weber also is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and the Professional Advisory Committee of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.
