HON. JOHN T. CARR is a circuit judge assigned to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. He was admitted to practice in 1972 and focused his practice on family law and personal injury. Judge Carr earned his B.S. degree at Loyola University - Chicago, Illinois, and his J.D. degree at DePaul University. HON. EDWARD R. JORDAN is a circuit judge assigned to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. He has been assigned to that division as a trial judge since he came onto the bench on August 1, 1994. Before coming to the bench, Judge Jordan was in private practice for 22 years, most of which were spent as a trial lawyer in the area of family law. He also was a member of the Federal Trial Bar. He is a 1972 graduate of the John Marshall Law School and a 1975 Diplomat of the Trial Technique Clinic of the Lawyers Post Graduate Clinics in Chicago. Judge Jordan also is a member of several professional associations. He is a past president of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, and he is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly. Judge Jordan is a frequent lecturer and panel participant in programs of continuing education for lawyers and judges, he regularly judges mock trial and moot court competitions, and he often speaks to civic and other groups on the law. He has received many certificates and awards for his educational efforts. HON. NANCY J. KATZ is an Associate Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Judge Katz was appointed to the bench in November, 1999. Since April, 2000 she has been assigned to the Domestic Relations Division, where she presides over an individual calendar. Judge Katz is a 1983 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. From 1995-1999 she served as Assistant General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, where she supervised the legal work of the Department in the Cook County Child Protection and Juvenile Justice Divisions of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Prior to that, Judge Katz worked for more than 10 years as a staff attorney, supervising attorney and project director for the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago. She also served for one and a half years as the Assistant Ethics Counsel for the American Bar Association's Center for Professional Responsibility. Judge Katz is a member of the Committee on Education of the Illinois Judicial Conference and she frequently speaks on family law issues to legal, professional, and lay audiences. HON. PATRICIA MARIAN LOGUE is a Circuit Judge assigned to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. Prior to the bench Judge Logue was director of Constitutional Litigation at Lambda Legal. She is a graduate of Brown University and earned her J.D. degree at Northwestern University School of Law. HON. PAMELA E. LOZA is a Circuit Judge assigned to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. Judge Loza started her legal career as an Assistant Cook County State's Attorney doing appellate work and then was transferred to represent the people of the state of Illinois in the criminal courts of the Northwest Suburban Cook County. After approximately 3 ½ years she left the state's attorney's office and went into private practice, concentrating in family and criminal matters. Judge Loza earned her B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin/Madison, her M.A. degree from Middlebury College, Middlebury Vermont and her J.D. degree from Chicago Kent College of Law. HON. MARTHA A. MILLS is a Circuit Judge assigned to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. Judge Mills is currently the Supervising Judge for Expedited Child Support. She entered private law practice in 1966 and practiced in the areas of commercial litigation, constitutional law, civil rights litigation. Judge Mills earned her B.A. degree at Macalester College and her J.D. degree at the University of Minnesota School of Law. HON. MARYA NEGA is a Circuit Judge assigned to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. MODERATOR - JEFFREY W. BREND is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Levin & Brend, P.C., where he concentrates his litigation practice in all aspects of divorce and child custody. Along with being an attorney, Mr. Brend is a Certified Public Accountant and has been qualified as a financial expert to value businesses and complete forensic financial investigations throughout the Chicago-land area. He has written numerous articles about business valuation, forensic accounting and child custody issues. Mr. Brend earned his B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University and his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (past chair, Matrimonial Law Committee), the American Society of Appraisers, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
