JOHN COLLEN is a partner in the Chicago office of Tressler LLP, where he practices in the areas involving financially troubled entities, including Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Law, loan workouts, corporate reorganizations, creditors' rights and troubled real estate law. He represents and counsels debtors, management, secured lenders, indenture trustees, receivers, landlords, creditors' committees, general creditors and bankruptcy trustees in transactions, bankruptcy cases, receiverships and in creditors' rights litigation cases throughout the country. Mr. Collen is an adjunct law professor at the St. John's School of Law Bankruptcy LL.M. Program. He is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, and a member of the American and Chicago bar associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute (co-chair emeritus of Real Estate Bankruptcy Committee). Mr. Collen earned his A.B. degree, summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University. FRANCIS L. KELDERMANS is a partner with Holland & Knight LLP, and practices in the firm's Financial Services Group with an emphasis on lending, workouts, receiverships, foreclosures, and the purchase and sale of loan portfolios. Mr. Keldermans has significant experience representing lenders with respect to commercial and real estate finance transactions. He represents lenders with respect to complex foreclosure proceedings involving all real estate asset classes, including mixed-use condominium regimes, for sale housing developments, retail centers, warehouse and storage facilities, apartment projects and land ventures. Mr. Keldermans has significant experience with mortgage foreclosure receiverships and related issues. He represents clients in the purchase and sale of mortgage loan portfolios. Mr. Keldermans also represents clients that provide credit facilities to buyers of distressed loans. In addition, Mr. Keldermans advises clients on real estate acquisitions, sales and finance. He earned his B.A. degree from Loyola University Chicago and his J.D. degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Mr. Keldermans has spoken at multiple seminars related to foreclosure and distressed real estate. He is a member of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (fellow), Chicago, Illinois and American bar associations, Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association (member, Legislative Committee) and Mortgage Bankers Association of American (member, Legal Issues Committee). BARRY I. MORTGE is an attorney in the Illinois Law Office of Barry I. Mortge. Mr. Mortge primarily represents both individuals and businesses in commercial litigation matters. He focuses his litigation on real estate related matters, primarily foreclosure actions, but also represents landlords and tenants in lease disputes and litigates mechanics' lien actions and other contract-related matters. Mr. Mortge has been involved with partnership and shareholder disputes. He has tried numerous cases in both the state and federal courts and has extensive appellate experience as well. Mr. Mortge earned his undergraduate degree from Furman University and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, including the Supreme Court of Georgia and Georgia Court of Appeals; the Illinois Bar; and U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, the Central District of Illinois, and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Mortge is a member of the Federal Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. DOUGLAS A. OLIVER is a senior associate with the law firm of Freedman, Anselmo, Lindberg & Rappe LLC, which is located in Naperville, Illinois. His practice covers the state of Illinois and includes mortgage foreclosure, collections and real estate law. Mr. Oliver, an experienced trial lawyer, focuses mainly on contested foreclosure and collection matters. He has previously lectured for National Business Institute on foreclosure matters. Mr. Oliver earned his B.A. degree from the University of Iowa and his J.D. degree, with honors, from Drake Law School. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Illinois. C. JOHN RUDDY is a managing member in the firm Ruddy, Milroy & King LLC, in Aurora, Illinois. Mr. Ruddy concentrates his practice in the areas of litigation concerning real estate, bankruptcy reorganization, commercial matters and consumer disputes. He has been in practice since 1977. Mr. Ruddy advises and represents the firm's clients on real estate foreclosure proceedings, including the implementation of sheriff's sales. He also advises and represents loan borrowers on defenses and counterclaims to mortgage foreclosure proceedings, including the Fair Credit Agreements Act; the Real Estate Settlement Protections Act; the Truth in Lending Act; the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act. Mr. Ruddy earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and his juris doctorate degree from John Marshall Law School. He has been the chairperson of the Commercial, Banking and Bankruptcy Committee of the Kane County Bar Association from 1994 to the present, and is a former bankruptcy trustee.
