MARGARET M. ANDERSON co-chairs the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors' Rights Group at Fox, Hefter, Swibel, Levin & Carroll, LLP. Ms. Anderson has represented secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings throughout the country. Her clients include numerous lending institutions. Ms. Anderson has experience advising buyers and sellers of assets of troubled companies. She also represents bankruptcy trustees, debtors and assignees for the benefit of creditors. In addition, Ms. Anderson has extensive experience advising insurance companies in bankruptcy cases, frequently representing insurance companies in the collection of premium, deductibles, and other amounts owed to them by insolvent companies. She also counsels insurers with respect to the handling of covered claims when their insureds are in bankruptcy. Ms. Anderson earned her B.A. degree from Loras College and her J.D. degree from Yale Law School. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and Texas. MATTHEW T. GENSBURG is a shareholder in the business reorganization and bankruptcy practice in Greenberg Traurig's Chicago office. He focuses his practice on financial services and is an experienced commercial litigator representing secured and unsecured lenders, landlords, creditors' committees and debtors in all phases of corporate reorganizations, debt restructuring, and the purchase and sale of assets. Mr. Gensburg is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and a past instructor at the American Bankers Association's National Commercial Lending School and Commercial Lending Graduate School. He is a frequent lecturer, instructing loan officers and attorneys on the Bankruptcy and Uniform Commercial Codes. He earned his B.B.A. degree at the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree at Emory University School of Law. HARLEY J. GOLDSTEIN is a partner with K & L Gates LLP, in Chicago, Illinois, an international law firm comprised of nearly 2,000 attorneys in 33 offices around the globe, where he leads the Chicago office's bankruptcy and restructuring group. He was profiled in 2005 as one of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch,” in a publication by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company (publisher of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and the Chicago Lawyer), and also has been named as a “Rising Star” in the Illinois Super Lawyers magazine, from the publishers of Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine. Mr. Goldstein represents secured creditors, unsecured creditors, debtors, committees, trustees, equity security holders and other parties in all transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy cases. He also represents lenders and borrowers in out-of-court operational and financial restructuring matters. Mr. Goldstein co-wrote "Spending Other People's Money: Creditors' Remedies for the Misuse of Cash Collateral in Bankruptcy," published in the University of Miami Business Law Review, "Can Ipso Facto Clauses Resolve the Discharge Debate?: An Economic Approach to Novated Fraud Debt in Bankruptcy," published in the DePaul Business and Commercial Law Journal and "Tips and Traps for Landlords under New Bankruptcy Amendment," published in the Newsletter of Corporate Renewal. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and New York. Mr. Goldstein earned his B.A. degree from Arizona State University and his J.D. degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Prior to practicing, Mr. Goldstein served as law clerk to the Honorable Erwin I. Katz, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bar Association.
