THOMAS D. BRANSFIELD is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Bransfield & Bransfield, PC. Mr. Bransfield has concentrated his practice in the areas of probate, estate planning and estate administration since 1992. He is a member of the Illinois State and Chicago bar associations, and regularly participates with Probate, Trust and Federal Tax committees of the Chicago Bar. Mr. Bransfield is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin and Ohio. He is a frequent guest speaker for professional groups on estate planning, charitable giving, guardianships, probate law, wills and trusts. Mr. Bransfield earned his LL.M. degree from DePaul University, his J.D. degree from Loyola University of Chicago and his B.A. degree from Boston College. MICHAEL H. ERDE is the principal in the Chicago law firm of Michael H. Erde & Associates, P.C., where, since 1969, he has focused his practice on estate planning, elder law, probate, guardianships, business and corporate law, and real estate leases. He is certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation (the Supreme Court of Illinois does not recognize certification). Mr. Erde is a member of the Greater North Shore Estate Planning (treasurer), Financial Planners Council, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has been an instructor/lecturer for many years on estates and trusts, elder law and asset protection. Mr. Erde is an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School, where he teaches classes on elder law. Mr. Erde also has written numerous articles on wills, trusts and elder law issues. He earned his B.S.B.A. degree from Washington University, his J.D. degree from the University of Illinois, and has graduate credits in taxation from The John Marshall Law School. Mr. Erde founded the Asset Protection Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, where he was a former chairman and member. He also is a member of the Probate Committee of the local bar. Mr. Erde also is former chair of the Business and Financial Advice Section of the Illinois State Bar Association and former director of the Irene Josselyn Center for Mental Health. MICHAEL L. OVERMANN is the owner of Michael Overmann, Ltd., in Darien, where he practices in the areas of estate planning, trusts and estate administration. Mr. Overmann formerly was an attorney for The Northern Trust Company in Chicago, and counsel for DuPage County Public Guardian. He earned his B.S. degree, with distinction, from Purdue University and his J.D. degree from St. Louis University. Mr. Overmann has previously written and spoken on his areas of practice. He is a member of the Chicago, DuPage County, Illinois State (Trusts and Estate Section) and American (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section) bar associations. KERRY R. PECK is the managing partner of the law firm Peck Bloom, LLC. Mr. Peck concentrates his practice in trust and estate litigation, estate planning/administration and elder law, and his clients include families, hospitals, banks, the state of Illinois, county of Cook, and city of Chicago. He is past president of the 22,000-member Chicago Bar Association, and is currently president-elect of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms and chairman of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Political Action Committee. Mr. Peck was selected by his peers in two statewide surveys of Illinois attorneys as a "SuperLawyer," an attorney to whom other attorneys would refer their family and was named a member of the Leading Lawyers Network. He continually contributes articles to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Chicago Bar Association Record, Illinois State Bar Journal, and various other bar association journals and newspapers and serves on the Board of Directors for The Center for Disability and Elder Law. Mr. Peck earned his B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He also is licensed to practice law in Florida.
