FREDRICK B. WEBER is an attorney, senior vice president and senior estate administrator at Northern Trust in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2011, Mr. Weber worked for more than 7 years as a senior estate officer at JPMorgan in Chicago. At Northern Trust, he handles all aspects of decedents' estate and trust administration. Upon the death of a grantor or testator who has designated Northern Trust as their executor and/or successor trustee, he serves as the relationship manager for all beneficiaries, co-fiduciaries, attorneys and other outside professionals until the completion of all of the death-related administration. This may include post-mortem tax planning, collection and consolidation of all estate and trust assets, payment of all debts, taxes and expenses, supervision of the work of outside legal counsel on all legal issues to be addressed during the period of death-related administration and the selection of assets for the funding of continuing trusts or outright distribution to the ultimate beneficiaries. Before he joined JPMorgan, Mr. Weber was a trust, estate and probate attorney in private practice for nearly 6 years, and he also worked for 1 year as a planned giving officer for a large not-for-profit organization in Chicago. Mr. Weber is a frequent speaker on topics related to post-mortem estate and trust administration. In addition to numerous presentations for National Business Institute, Inc., he has presented for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE), the Chicago Bar Association, the Chicago Estate Planning Council, the National Trust School of the American Bankers Association, the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and the AFP International Conference on Fundraising. He earned his B.A. degree in International Relations and History from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law. Mr. Weber is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where he recently served as a Chair of the Trust Law Committee. Prior to attending law school, he worked in Washington, D.C. as a legislative aide to the late U.S. Senator Paul D. Wellstone (D-MN), where, among other things, he worked on Finance and Foreign Relations Committee issues.
