BRUCE D. GOODMAN is a partner at Timm & Garfinkel, LLC, in Deerfield. His principal areas of concentration include commercial real estate law, land use and development, and business law. Mr. Goodman previously was a partner at Kritzer & Levick, P.C., where he handled complex commercial real estate development, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and land use matters. He represents corporations and institutions in complex real estate development transactions and has extensive experience in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and land use. Mr. Goodman also was formerly a partner in the real estate department of Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg, and in the real estate boutique law firm of Nagelberg & Resnick, each located in Chicago. He earned his A.B. degree, with high honors, from Princeton University and his J.D. degree from Stanford University where he worked for Justice Mathew O. Tobriner of the California Supreme Court. Mr. Goodman frequently lectures on real estate topics for such groups as the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Business Institute. JOHN T. HUNTINGTON is the principal of Huntington & Associates, SP, with offices in Oak Brook, Illinois. He is a past instructor of business law at Illinois Benedictine College and in the Graduate School of Management at Lewis University. Mr. Huntington frequently lectures to professionals of all disciplines on a variety of commercial real estate issues. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. Mr. Huntington earned his B.A. degree from Denison University and his J.D. degree from IIT-Chicago-Kent College of Law. LAVON M. JOHNS is a partner and manager of the Real Estate Practice Group in the firm Pugh, Jones, Johnson & Quandt, P.C. in Chicago. She has represented numerous commercial and industrial clients in multi-million dollar commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, real-estate based financing, development transactions and office and retail management and leasing relating to real property located in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Johns also represents not-for-profit organizations in the redevelopment of real estate. She has extensive experience in counseling clients engaged in corporate mergers and acquisitions involving real property. Ms. Johns was selected as one of "40 Illinois Attorneys under 40 to Watch" by Law Bulletin Publishing Company in 2004. She has been designated an "Illinois Super Lawyer" in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2011 as a result of research conducted jointly by Law & Politics and Chicago magazines. Ms. Johns has been named one of the 100 top Women in Real Estate by the Illinois Real Estate Journal for the past 3 years. She is listed in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. She has recently attained the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification issued by the U.S. Green Building Council. Ms. Johns is currently one of the very few attorneys in Illinois to attain this designation. She serves as an adjunct professor at the Northwestern University School of Law and is a frequent lecturer for the National Business Institute. Ms. Johns earned her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Creighton University and her J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association (Affordable Housing Subcommittee) and the Chicago and National bar associations. DANIEL J. KOPP is an attorney with the Chicago firm of Daspin & Aument, LLP, where he focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions, particularly leasing, lending, acquisitions-dispositions and development. Mr. Kopp also has extensive experience in dealing with distressed properties on behalf of lenders and owners. His landlord clients include national and regional developers and other institutional owners of retail, office and industrial spaces. Mr. Kopp's lender clients are regional and community banks. He also has represented developers and institutional owners in the purchase and sale of retail, office, industrial, multi-family and mixed-use properties. Mr. Kopp is chairman of the Plan Commission of the Village of Willowbrook. He has been designated as a "Super Lawyer" for several year. Mr. Kopp frequently speaks and writes about issues related to real estate law. He serves as instructor of a multi-week course in real estate law and risk management as part of an industry accreditation program for the suburban Chicago chapter of the Business Owners and Managers Association. Mr. Kopp is on the board of advisors of Commercial Tenant's Lease Insider, and has participated in numerous article for that publication. He also has participated in numerous articles for Commercial Lease Law Insider. Mr. Kopp earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree from Indiana University.
