DEBORAH S. ASHEN is a partner in the Law Offices of Deborah S. Ashen, Ltd., in Chicago. Her principal areas of practice include business and commercial litigation and collection litigation. GLANTZ is a member of the law firm of Shaw Gussis Fishman Glantz Wolfson & Towbin LLC, where his practice is concentrated in the areas of secured lending, debtor-creditor relations, workouts and insolvency and bankruptcy, real estate finance, commercial real estate and real estate litigation. Mr. Glantz has significant experience representing borrowers, debtors in possession, as well as banks and other financial institutions in financing matters and creditors' right matters, representing developers during acquisition, development and sale. He is experienced in all aspects of bankruptcy cases, including significant representation of trustees, debtors in possession and creditors' committees. Mr. Glantz is listed in 2007 and 2008 as an "Illinois Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics publishers. He was previously registered as a certified public accountant and was formerly an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he taught basic and advanced bankruptcy law, and is a frequent lecturer and author on various insolvency and secured lending topics. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association and the Turnaround Management Association. BRUCE N. MENKES is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Mandell Menkes LLC, where he represents businesses, including some of the nation's largest retailers, consumer lenders, hospitals and other health care providers. He has handled co-brand and other credit card agreements for retailers. Mr. Menkes defends consumer class actions, including suits alleging violations of the Consumer Fraud Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Truth in Lending Act. He negotiates and documents lending, real estate, corporate, health care and other transactions, and forms and advises captive insurance companies and purchasing groups. Mr. Menkes earned his B.A. degree, highest honors, from William & Mary and his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago. LARRY J. MEYER is the owner and sole proprietor of his own firm and concentrates in the area of collections and evictions. Mr. Meyer is a member of the Illinois Creditors Bar Association (secretary). He is author of the chapter on evictions in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Handbook on Creditors Rights, 2007 edition. Mr. Meyer earned his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois-Urbana and his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School.
