MATTHEW T. GENSBURG is a shareholder in the business reorganization and bankruptcy practice in Greenberg Traurig's Chicago office. He focuses his practice on financial services and is an experienced commercial litigator representing secured and unsecured lenders, landlords, creditors' committees and debtors in all phases of corporate reorganizations, debt restructuring, and the purchase and sale of assets. Mr. Gensburg is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and a past instructor at the American Bankers Association's National Commercial Lending School and Commercial Lending Graduate School. He is a frequent lecturer, instructing loan officers and attorneys on the Bankruptcy and Uniform Commercial Codes. Mr. Gensburg earned his B.B.A. degree at the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree at Emory University School of Law. KAREN R. GOODMAN is an attorney with Shefsky & Froelich Ltd. Ms. Goodman has been a member of the panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Northern District of Illinois since 1989, and has been appointed as trustee and examiner in operating Chapter 11 cases. She also has extensive experience representing trustees in multi-asset cases. Since 1982, Ms. Goodman has practiced bankruptcy law. She has represented creditors, trustees, Chapter 11 debtors and creditors' committees in various complex commercial bankruptcy cases and has participated in commercial litigation before various federal and state courts. Ms. Goodman also has counseled clients regarding out-of-court workouts and in the area of insolvency. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and her J.D. degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Ms. Goodman is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and a past chair of it's Bankruptcy and Reorganization Committee. She also is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. LINCOLN M. KING is a partner in the law firm of Ruddy, Milroy & King, LLC, where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial bankruptcy, foreclosures, mortgage foreclosure, divorce, uncontested divorce, marital property settlements, business formation, civil liability and tort defense. He earned his B.A. degree from Eastern Illinois University and his J.D. degree from Northern Illinois University. Mr. King is a member of the Kane County and Illinois State bar associations. MELANIE PENNYCUFF is an attorney with Law Offices of Barry Kreisler, P.C. Ms. Pennycuff has many years of experience in both state and federal litigation in Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Currently, her practice is dedicated to the areas of bankruptcy, consumer protection law and appellate practice in Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Throughout her legal career, Ms. Pennycuff has represented both individuals and multi-national corporations in a variety of matters. She was honored in March, 2010 by being selected as "Member of the Month" by the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, from among its more than 4,000 members located in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Ms. Pennycuff is licensed to practice in Indiana and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District courts for the Northern and Southern districts of Indiana, as well as for the Northern District of Illinois. She also is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She earned her B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from Franklin College and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. RONALD R. PETERSON is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Jenner & Block LLP, where he is co-chair of the firm's commercial law department. His practice areas include bankruptcy litigation and counseling, creditors' rights law, reorganization and restructuring and state and local taxation counseling and litigation. A frequent speaker, Mr. Peterson also has written numerous articles including "Bankruptcy Lawyers' Criminal Liability" in the 2006 ABA publication on bankruptcy lawyers' liability. A cum laude graduate of Ripon College, he earned his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago. Mr. Peterson is a member of the Chicago, the Illinois State and the American (member, Business Law Section, Business Bankruptcy Committee, Commercial Financial Services Committee and Litigation Section, Bankruptcy Litigation Committee) bar associations, and the Commercial Law League of America, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Association of Insolvency Practitioners and the American College of Bankruptcy. GLENN STEARNS has served for more than 12 years as the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of Illinois serving the counties surrounding Chicago. Mr. Stearns has more than 16 years of experience in credit management, most of it in the wholesale distribution of electrical apparatus and industrial automation products with WESCO Distribution, Inc. His first meaningful experience with bankruptcy was as the chairman of creditors committees in two Chapter 11 cases. Mr. Stearns has been a speaker or panelist at seminars held by the NACTT, Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Cook, DuPage, Kane and Will County Bar Associations and at United States Trustee Regional Training Seminars in Indiana and Illinois. He earned his B.B.A degree from UW Madison and his M.B.A degree from DePaul University. Mr. Stearns is a member of the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees (NACTT).
