JOHN J. CASTANEDA is a partner with Corti, Aleksy and Castaneda. He served as first Hispanic president of the Workers' Compensation Lawyer Association, and also served as director of the association and is currently the editor of the organization's newsletter. Mr. Castaneda is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He is listed as an Illinois Super Lawyer as well as in the Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Castaneda earned his B.A. degree from Loyola University and his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. CHRISTINE M. JAGODZINSKI is an attorney with Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie & Lowry, P.C., where she specializes in the area of trial and appellate practice in worker's compensation. Ms. Jagodzinski is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association. She earned her B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from Loyola University; her M.A. degree from Loyola University; and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Loyola University. Ms. Jagodzinski has previously lectured for the Illinois Self-Insurers Association. BRADLEY C. KNELL is an attorney with Knell & O'Connor in Chicago, Illinois. He has specialized in workers' compensation and civil litigation. Mr. Knell has tried and argued more than 150 workers' compensation cases at the Illinois Industrial Commission. He also handles civil liability, 1(B) employer's liability and employment matters. Mr. Knell has led and spoken at many seminars concerning workers' compensation and employment matters. He is a member of the Chicago and DuPage Bar Associations and the Illinois Workers' Compensation Trial Attorney Association. Mr. Knell earned his B.A. degree from Eastern Illinois University and his J.D. degree from Ohio Northern University. MICHAEL E. RUSIN is the president of the Chicago firm of Rusin Maciorowski & Friedman, Ltd., and has been the managing partner of the firm's workers' compensation department since 1984. With extensive trial and appellate experience, Mr. Rusin concentrates his practice in the defense of workers' compensation litigation and employer liability cases. He focuses on coverage issues involving workers' compensation policies. Mr. Rusin is involved in the development of transitional return-to-work programs and their acceptance by the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. He is an accomplished speaker and author on current workers' compensation issues and Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission developments. Mr. Rusin is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, National Council of Self-Insurers, Illinois-Self-Insurers Association, Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association, Workers' Compensation Claims Association, Greater Peoria Claims Association, and the Council on Litigation Management. He earned his B.A. degree from Northwestern University and his J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. CASEY WOODRUFF is the principal at Woodruff Johnson & Palermo Injury Law Offices, with offices in Aurora, Chicago and Champaign, Illinois. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Illinois and his J.D. degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. A frequent lecturer and writer for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Service Employees International Union, Illinois Education Association and many others, Mr. Woodruff has recovered benefits for more than 3,000 injured workers during his 22 year career. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Workers' Compensation Committee of both the American and Chicago bar associations.
