ROBERT L. ALDRIDGE has practiced law for the Idaho State Bar since 1970. His legal practice includes estate planning, elder law, Medicaid, taxation, probate, trusts, business law, first amendment and church law. He gives extensive lectures including continuing legal education classes for attorneys on areas of specialty. Mr. Aldridge is a volunteer legislative lobbyist writing and promoting bills that protect the elderly and improve probate and estate planning laws. He is currently a member of many committees and associations. He has co-written the attorneys' form books for Probate and Conservator-Guardianships. In 2003 and 2004, he testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Aging regarding guardianship reform and on the Elder Justice Act as well as being an expert witness regarding the safeguards for the elderly which were developed in Idaho in the conservator-guardianship procedure. He has written numerous articles on elder law and estate planning issues including a monthly column for the Senior Citizens News. STEVEN F. SCANLIN is a sole practitioner in the Scanlin Law Offices, PLLC, in Boise, Idaho, where he practices in wills, trusts and estate planning, probate, small business organization, elder law, and guardianships. He offers advice and consultation services at senior citizen centers on wills, trusts and estate planning. Mr. Scanlin is a frequent lecturer for National Business Institute in his areas of expertise. He wrote "A Public Retirement Plan's View of Valuation and Division of Retirement Benefits at Divorce," published by The Advocate, and has conducted continuing legal education on "Drafting Your First Will and Trust in Idaho.” Mr. Scanlin earned his B.S.Ed. degree from Montana State University at Billings, his J.D. degree from the University of Idaho and his M.S.W. degree from Portland State University. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar and the 4th District Bar. A. WESLEY SEIDEMAN is the president of TrESCo of Idaho where he consults on trust administration, probate administration and conservatorship administration. He has more than 30 years of experience in estate and trust administration. Mr. Seideman has written for and spoken at seminars on guardianship, conservatorships and probate issues. He received his B.A. degree from Whitworth College in Spokane and completed his graduate-level work at Gonzaga University. Mr. Seideman is a member of Trust & Estate Professionals, Inc. (a legislative review committee that proposes and reviews changes to Idaho law on probate, conservatorship and trust issues). He also is a member of the National Guardianship Association and the Idaho Guardianship and Fiduciary Association, Inc.
