MARY BETH BLAIR is the paralegal for the Law Offices of D. Blair Clark, PLLC. She is a graduate of Lewis-Clark State College with degrees in both the legal secretary and paralegal programs. Ms. Blair is the only Certified Bankruptcy Assistant (CBA) in Idaho. She has extensive knowledge of all the forms of bankruptcy filings, including Chapters 9, 11 and 12. Ms. Blair currently has two assistants working for her and has trained other paralegals in the past. She was the primary instructor for paralegals and legal assistants at the Idaho Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section seminars in 2008, 2009 and 2010. MATTHEW T. CHRISTENSEN is an attorney in the law firm of Angstman Johnson, where he represents clients in all aspects of business law, real estate and bankruptcy, including all aspects of litigation and transactional work. He also is an adjunct professor at Boise State University and the University of Idaho College of Law. Mr. Christensen teaches American government and international law courses at BSU, and international trade/business and real estate courses at the University of Idaho College of Law. He is an active member of the Idaho State Bar, currently serving as a member of the Advocate Editorial Advisory Board, and a board member of the Business and Corporate Law Section. Mr. Christensen is a member of the Real Property Section of the Idaho State Bar and is involved with the American Bar Association's Center for Professional Responsibility. He earned his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University, and his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Duke University School of Law. D. BLAIR CLARK is the principal in the Law Offices of D. Blair Clark, PLLC. His practice areas include corporate and business law and real estate lender litigation. His emphasis is on bankruptcy, including liquidations, and personal/business reorganizations. Mr. Clark has taught at several seminars on bankruptcy matters for both attorneys and non-lawyers. He is admitted to practice before all Idaho and Oregon courts, including the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for Idaho and Oregon and the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Clark also has practiced in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for Arizona, Delaware, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Washington. He has represented several entities in the agricultural area, including all of the Canyon County, Idaho; and seed growers in Sunseeds Genetics in San Jose, California, which resulted in all of them receiving full payment of their claims. He successfully represented clients with unique legal situations, such as agricultural cooperatives needing bankruptcy reorganizations. His clients have included various types of businesses, (including physicians and medical providers; farmers and ranchers; agricultural landlords and tenants; as well as other businesses and individuals). Mr. Clark has helped farmers and ranchers reorganize under Chapter 12, which is not only effective but often saves a substantial amount on income taxes. He successfully pursued fraudulent management for a bankruptcy trustee in Boise; real estate lenders under the provisions of the Federal Real Estate Settlement Practices Act; and both prosecuted and defended preferences and fraudulent conveyances. Mr. Clark is a member of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Idaho State Bar (former chairman) and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He earned his B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Idaho. PATRICK J. GEILE is an attorney at Foley Freeman PLLC, where his legal emphasis is civil law, including financial workouts; creditors’ rights; business; bankruptcy; consumer bankruptcy; domestic relations; and general litigation, including state appeals and federal appeals to both the 9th Circuit and the 9th Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel (BAP). Mr. Geile is a member of both the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy and Family Law sections of the Idaho State Bar. Mr. Geile was admitted to the practice law in September of 2004, and has been practicing in Idaho since then. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Puget Sound and his J.D. degree from the University of Idaho College of Law. JEFFREY P. KAUFMAN is an attorney at the Law Offices of D. Blair Clark, PLLC, where his practice concentrates on Chapter 7 and 13 filings. Mr. Kaufman interned with Ringert Clark Chartered Lawyers prior to graduation, and upon passing the bar, accepted a position with Kathleen McCallister, Chapter 13 Trustee for the District of Idaho. He graduated from the University of Idaho and earned his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law. Â
