HON. CELESTE F. BREMER was appointed Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Iowa in 1991. Her duties include trial of civil cases, pretrial case management for more than 500 cases, settlement conferences and other ADR procedures, criminal case pretrial matters and prisoner case trials and management. Prior to her present position, Judge Bremer was a partner in a general practice firm. She earned her B.A. degree from St. Ambrose College and her J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. Judge Bremer is a member of the American, Iowa State and Polk County bar associations, the State Bar of California and the Federal Magistrate Judges Association. She also is a member of the American Judicature Society, the National Association of Women Judges, the Iowa Association of Women Attorneys and the Polk County Women Attorney's Association. In addition, Judge Bremer is a member of the 8th Circuit Judicial Council, the 8th Circuit Gender Fairness Task Force, the Federal Judicial Center Judicial Education Committee and the Iowa Supreme Court Rules of Evidence Committee. ANGELA CAMPBELL is the managing partner of Dickey & Campbell Law Firm, P.L.C., where she practices in the areas of federal criminal defense, immigration and civil litigation. Prior to private practice, Ms. Campbell served 4 years as a Federal Public Defender in the Federal Public Defenders Office in the Southern District of Iowa. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Drake School of Law, where she teaches Federal Criminal Law. Ms. Campbell earned her B.A. degree at Yale University and her J.D. degree at Boston College Law School. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the 8th Circuit Bar Association, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Immigration Lawyer Association. MATTHEW R. ESLICK is an attorney in the Litigation Department of Nyemaster, Goode, West, Hansell & O'Brien, P.C., in Des Moines, Iowa. He practices primarily in the areas of product liability defense and commercial contract litigation. Before joining the firm, Mr. Eslick served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable James E. Gritzner, of the United States District Court, Southern District of Iowa. He earned his B.A. and B.S. degrees, each magna cum laude, from Drake University, and graduated with highest honors and Order of the Coif from the Drake University Law School. He is licensed in both Iowa and Minnesota, and is a member of the American, Iowa and Minnesota state bar associations. R. SCOTT JOHNSON is a member with McKee, Voorhees & Sease, PLC. He litigates patent and intellectual property cases in federal and state courts across the county. Mr. Johnson is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts in Iowa. He is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and has previously taught as an adjunct professor at Drake Law School, teaching patent litigation. Mr. Johnson earned his B.S. degree at Iowa State University and his J.D. degree at Drake University Law School. THOMAS S. REAVELY is a partner in the Des Moines law firm of Whitfield & Eddy P.L.C., where he practices in the areas of personal injury and business litigation. He earned his B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary and his J.D. degree from Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William and Mary. Mr. Reavely has spoken for various professional groups. He is a member of the Blackstone Inn of Court, the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Polk County, The Iowa State and American bar associations, the Virginia State Bar and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Reavely also is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Northern and Southern Federal District courts of Iowa.
