GREGORY K. MARKHAM is a partner in the Honolulu law firm of Chee & Markham, where his areas of practice include attorney-commercial litigation, real property, insurance, construction, product liability, professional liability and negligence. He is a member of the American and Hawaii State (Board of Directors) bar associations. ALAN VAN ETTEN is a partner in the Honolulu law firm of Klevansky Piper Van Etten LLP. His practice concentrates in civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance law and litigation, representing plaintiffs in personal injury work (he is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum) and both policyholders and insurers in insurance coverage and bad faith cases, as well as litigating employment law and commercial torts on behalf of both plaintiffs and defense. Mr. Van Etten has written and spoken extensively on insurance law and litigation. He is a former adjunct professor of advanced torts/insurance law at The William S. Richardson School of Law. Mr. Van Etten earned his B.A. degree from Yale University and his J.D. degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California. He is a member of the Hawaii State (past president and representative to the American Bar Association House of Delegates) and the American (a vice chair, Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee, Tort and Insurance Practice Section) bar associations. MICHAEL J.Y. WONG is a personal injury and divorce lawyer in Honolulu who practices throughout the state of Hawaii. Mr. Wong is editor-in-chief and co-wrote the first edition of the Hawaii Motor Vehicle Collision Manual, which was published by the Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education (HICLE) for plaintiff and defense lawyers handling motor vehicle collision cases. He is editor-in-chief and co-wrote the third edition of the Hawaii Divorce Manual. He earned his B.S. degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley and his J.D. degree from the University of Southern California Law Center. Mr. Wong is a member of the Consumer Lawyers of Hawaii, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Hawaii State and American bar associations, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Wong has served on the governing boards of the HSBA, CLH, Association of Plaintiff Lawyers of Hawaii, HICLE and the Hawaii Bar Foundation. He was the American Bar Association General Practice Section's Sole Practitioner of the Year in 1987 and was president of the HSBA Young Lawyers Division.
