JOYCE K. BATTERSON is a paralegal and litigation manager at the law firm of Sherwin P. Robin & Associates, P.C. She earned her J.D. degree from Northwestern California University School of Law. Ms. Batterson earned her LL.M. degree, summa cum laude, in international taxation and financial services from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She was admitted to the California Supreme Court in June 2011. Ms. Batterson is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Tax Court, Washington, D.C. She is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association. DAVID M. CONNER is a principal in The Conner Law Group, P.C., which has offices in both Savannah and Jesup, Georgia. He is a highly-touted litigation lawyer, specializing in business litigation and related business organization and planning, and prosecution of catastrophic personal injury cases. Mr. Conner is recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer - Rising Star (and has been since 2006), Best Lawyer (Since 2007), and Georgia Trends Legal Elite. He is also a fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a collection of the country's top 3,500 litigation lawyers. He practices throughout Georgia, but focuses his practice principally in Savannah, Jesup, and surrounding areas. JAYLEN FENTON KATZMAN is a paralegal with the law firm of Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP, in Savannah, with more than 28 years in the legal field. She has a broad range of experience in a number of areas including commercial litigation, construction law, mass torts, environmental litigation and insurance defense matters. Ms. Katzman attended Anaheim Christian College and earned a paralegal certificate from Georgia College in Macon. She attained the distinction of advanced certified paralegal and is among five ACPs® specializing in the area of civil litigation from the State of Georgia. Ms. Katzman is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, the National Federation of Paralegal Association, the Southeastern Association of Legal Assistants (past president) and the American Bar Association. She has served on the Professional Development Committee Task Force in Georgia, a court appointed special advocate for the Chatham County Juvenile Court, and mentor with the Georgia National Guard, Youth Challenge Academy. JOHN B. MANLY is an attorney with Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP, practicing in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice defense and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP, he served as an assistant district attorney for the Augusta Judicial Circuit. Mr. Manly is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice in the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern districts of Georgia. A native Georgian, he graduated from The University of Georgia with degrees in political science and religion; and earned his J.D. degree from The University of Georgia School of Law. During law school, Mr. Manly clerked for Judge Anne E. Barnes of the Georgia Court of Appeals. GREGORY G. SEWELL is an associate at Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP, where he engages in predominately civil litigation practice. He focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, and commercial litigation including covenants not to compete and non disclosure issues. Mr. Sewell earned his B.A. degree from the University of Georgia and earned his J.D. degree from Georgia State University School of Law. He was a scholar athlete at the University of Georgia. While a law student, Mr. Sewell served on the Executive Committee of the Student Bar Association as community service chairman and was awarded the litigation honor designation. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. J. CURT THOMAS is a partner with Brennan & Wasden, LLP, where he engages in a broad civil litigation practice. He represents individuals, businesses, professionals, health care institutions, charitable and nonprofit organizations throughout Georgia and South Carolina. Mr. Thomas focuses his practice on professional malpractice defense, corporate and business litigation, representation of neighborhood and homeowners associations, construction and contract disputes, and general civil litigation. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia; the Savannah Bar Association; the South Carolina Bar; the Savannah Foundation, 2009 Emerging Leaders Committee; and the Savannah Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Thomas is active in the local community through his service and assistance with numerous charitable organizations. He is a member of the 2009 Emerging Leaders Committee of The Savannah Community Foundation and sits on the Board of the Habersham Branch of The YMCA of Coastal Georgia. Mr. Thomas earned his B.S. degree from Georgia State University and his J.D. degree from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University. He was in the Ruby R. Vale Corporate Law Moot Court Competition and was a finalist in the Hugh Lawson Oral Advocacy Competition. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court of Georgia, Southern District; Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.
