TAMAR OBERMAN FAULHABER is an attorney and head of the Domestic Relations Department at Vernis & Bowling of Atlanta, LLC. She is a trained guardian ad litem and domestic mediator; and over the past 17 years, has handled all types of family law matters, including divorces, child support, custody, legitimation and paternity, contempt, domestic violence, international custody disputes, appeals and jury trials. In addition to the practice of domestic litigation, Ms. Faulhaber also taught domestic relations law as an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. She is admitted to practice law in California, Arizona and Georgia, and is a member of the Family Law sections of the American and Atlanta bar associations. She served on the Rules Committee to establish and maintain the Fulton County Family Division, which has served as an example as a model of a family court to other counties in the state. Ms. Faulhaber also served on the Forms Committee of the Fulton County Family Law Information Center to assist citizens of the state to represent themselves in domestic matters. She earned her bachelor's degree in philosophy, magna cum laude, with honors, from Lafayette College; and her J.D. degree from UCLA Law School. JON W. HEDGEPETH is a partner with the Atlanta law firm of Hedgepeth & Heredia, LLC. He has practiced family law almost exclusively since 1991 and is a certified practitioner of collaborative law. Mr. Hedgepeth is a frequent lecturer at family law seminars and occasionally at law school classes in Atlanta. He earned his B.A. degree from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia; and his J.D. degree from Mercer University. Mr. Hedgepeth is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and is the immediate past president of the Atlanta Bar Association Family Law Section. He is a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inns of Court, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Old Warhorse Lawyer's Club and 1000 Lawyers for Justice. Mr. Hedgepeth has been recognized in Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia's Legal Elite and is listed in Worth Magazine as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in 2008. HANNIBAL F. HEREDIA is a partner with Hedgepeth & Heredia, LLC. Mr. Heredia has practiced family law almost exclusively since 1994. After six years with Georgia Legal Services, Mr. Heredia joined the Cartersville, Georgia, law firm of Perrotta, Cahn and Prieto, P.C. in 2000. In that capacity, he was part of the largest family law practice in Northwest Georgia and was subsequently named managing partner of Perrotta, Cahn and Prieto, P.C. In June 2006, he founded the firm of Hedgepeth & Heredia, LLC. In addition to practicing in all areas of the firm, Mr. Heredia also has extensive knowledge of surrogacy law as it exists in Georgia. He received his B.A. degree from Auburn University; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Southwestern University. Mr. Heredia is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia and the United States District Court. PATRICIA D. SHEWMAKER is a founding partner of Lynch & Shewmaker, LLC, where she practices in the areas of domestic litigation, military administrative law, and wills and estate planning. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Ms. Shewmaker served in the United States Army for ten years, both on active duty and with the Georgia Army National Guard. While in the Army, she served in military intelligence as a company commander of a counterintelligence company during Operation Iraqi Freedom. STEVEN P. SHEWMAKER formed the domestic litigation firm of Lynch & Shewmaker, LLC, along with his wife Patricia D. Shewmaker, and Catherine G. Lynch after serving for 11 years on active duty in the United States Army. While in the Army, Mr. Shewmaker served with a variety of military organizations, including infantry, military intelligence and judge advocate units in the United States, Japan, Iraq and Afghanistan. He continues to serve as a judge advocate in the Army Reserves where he advises soldiers and military commanders on a wide range of issues, including family law matters. At Lynch & Shewmaker, LLC, Mr. Shewmaker practices in the areas of domestic litigation, criminal defense, and military criminal and administrative matters. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Alabama, his M.A. degree from Saint Mary's University and his J.D. degree from Georgia State College of Law. JEANETTE L. SOLTYS is a sole practitioner in Cobb County where she focuses her practice on family law and adoption. Ms. Soltys is a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Cobb County and American bar associations. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Georgia and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University. AMY K. WAGGONER is an attorney at Waggoner Hastings LLP, where she focuses solely on the practice of family law. Ms. Waggoner handles divorce, child custody and support, paternity, and legitimation cases; counsels clients in premarital planning and preparing prenuptial agreements, domestic partnership agreements and dissolutions; and is certified as a collaborative law attorney. She serves as a guardian ad litem in Fulton Superior Court to protect the interests of children who are involved in contested custody matters. Ms. Waggoner lectures on family law issues at events sponsored by church, civic, and business organizations, and volunteers her time on behalf of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, assisting low income litigants in domestic relations matters. She earned her B.A. degree from Maryville College and her J.D. degree from Georgia State University. Ms. Waggoner is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Family Law, Sole Practitioner and Small Firm sections), the Tennessee Bar Association, the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association (Family Law, Sole Practitioner and Small Firm sections), the North Fulton and Stonewall bar associations, and is a founding member of the Atlanta Collaborative Divorce Alliance.
