October 5 - Atlanta W. THOMAS CABLE is an attorney in the law firm of Talley, Richardson & Cable, P.A, where he has been the firm's Managing Partner since 2005. Mr. Cable serves as the attorney for the Paulding County School District, the Paulding County Industrial Building Authority, and the Paulding County Airport Authority. A great deal of his practice is spent representing these clients as well as other government and business entities. Mr. Cable also handles other types of civil litigation, including divorce and custody disputes, real estate litigation, and commercial matters. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and a member and Past-President of the Paulding Bar Association, as well as having served as Past-President of the Civilian Club. Mr. Cable was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce in 1999 and served as Chairman of the Board in 2001-2002. Currently he serves on the Board of the Community Foundations of Paulding, Inc. and acts as a Special Master to the Supreme Court of Georgia on lawyer discipline issues. He also was appointed by the State of Georgia to serve on its Athlete Agent Regulatory Commission. Mr. Cable also was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia to the Paulding Judicial Circuit Public Defender Selection Panel, which was responsible for selecting Paulding County's initial Public Defender. LAWRENCE-HARDY is a partner in the firm of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, where she is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and co-leader of the Business and Commercial Litigation team. She has extensive experience handling complex multi-party, class action, multi-jurisdictional commercial, labor and employment matters. Ms. Lawrence-Hardy has successfully defended primarily Fortune 100 companies throughout the U.S. and abroad in trials, arbitrations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. ALEXA R. ROSS is a member of the law firm of Robbins Freed & Ross, LLC, where she represents businesses in contract-related disputes, particularly those involving fraud and bad faith. Ms. Ross is one of the nation's foremost experts in charter school law. She serves on the Advisory Board of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and is a featured speaker at its annual conventions, as well as the annual Georgia Charter Schools Association. Ms. Ross has advised and represented major charter school management companies and advises the Georgia Attorney General's Office regarding charter school legislation. Currently, she serves as an advisor to the Attorney General in his office's defense against a state constitutional challenge to the statute that created the Georgia Charter Schools Commission. Ms. Ross' expertise includes all areas of charter school creation, organization and operation, such as federal and state funding, school governance and management, protection from liability for staff actions, and employment matters. She also has significant experience advising and representing school districts and charter schools regarding the law governing educating students with disabilities. Ms. Ross has represented some of the largest and well-known school districts in the state, including Fulton, Rockdale, and Fayette Counties. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Coralwood School and Diagnostic Center Foundation and on the Advisory Council of Immaculate Heart of Mary School. She earned her B.A. degree, with highest honors, from the University of Florida and her J.D. degree, with highest honors, from the University of Florida School of Law. October 6 - Savannah DAVID M. CONNER is a principal in The Conner Law Group, P.C., which has offices in both Savannah and Jesup, Georgia. He is a highly-touted litigation lawyer, specializing in business litigation and related business organization and planning, and prosecution of catastrophic personal injury cases. Mr. Conner is recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer - Rising Star (and has been since 2006), Best Lawyer (since 2007), and Georgia Trends Legal Elite. He is also a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a collection of the country's top 3,500 litigation lawyers. Similarly, Mr. Conner is an invited member of the Council on Litigation Management, a consortium of the nation's top business and legal professionals dedicated to the promotion of integrity in dispute resolution. He practices throughout Georgia and South Carolina, but focuses his practice principally in South Georgia, south of Macon. LEAMON R. HOLLIDAY III is a partner in Bouhan, Williams & Levy LLP in Savannah, Georgia and has a diverse legal practice that includes the areas of education law, condemnation and eminent domain, public utility law, business and construction arbitration and litigation, and employment claims. He is the school board attorney for the Board of Public Education for the City of Savannah and County of Chatham. Mr. Holliday has served as an arbitrator in commercial business disputes, and has had a wide range of litigation experience including defense of employment claims, architects and engineers, condemnations, business disputes, title to land, civil rights claims, and the defense of class actions. He has represented school districts in claims involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, EEOC matters and in discrimination claims by students and employees. Mr. Holliday is admitted in all state and federal courts in Georgia and the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia Law School. ELLEN L. SCHOOLAR is an attorney in the law firm of Alan S. Lowe & Associates, P.C., where she focuses her practice in education and school law, employment law, real property, and environmental law.
