PAIGE JOYNER is the owner of Compliance +, LLC, a consulting firm that provides healthcare organizations with cost effective solutions for HIPAA, Red Flag and OSHA compliance. Ms. Joyner has spoken regularly to large groups including the Licensed Professional Counselors of Georgia, Georgia Eldercare Association, the Forsyth Senior Network, the Pickens County Senior Network, the Atlanta Bar Association Eldercare, the South Atlanta Association of Health Underwriters, the Coastal Empire Association of Health Underwriters and Women in Insurance and Financial Services. She attended the American College of Switzerland in Leysin, Switzerland for two years and returned to the states to complete her undergraduate degree in psychology at Emory University. In 2001, she completed her graduate studies with the ACMT having earned her PhD in Theology. Recently, Ms. Joyner completed the DDI Healthcare Leadership Training Program. She is licensed for health, life and sickness and property and casualty insurance sales, and holds her 6 and 63 financial licenses as well. DR. RONALD I. KAPLAN, MD is a partner in the law firm of Kaplan & Lukowski, LLP, in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kaplan practices in the areas of medical malpractice, HIPAA and medical/healthcare issues. Dr. Kaplan practiced general surgery for 23 years and he held many positions in several hospitals including chief of staff, vice chief of staff, and secretary of the medical staff. He was also chief in the department of surgery and chief in the general surgery section. Dr. Kaplan is a fellow in the American College of Legal Medicine, the American College of Forensic Medicine (fellow), the American Association of Justice, the Atlanta and Sandy Springs bar associations and the State Bar of Georgia. Dr. Kaplan completed his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his M.D. degree from Medical College of Georgia. He earned his law degree from Georgia State University School of Law. Dr. Kaplan completed his internship in straight surgery and his general surgery residency in Atlanta, Georgia. BRIAN K. MATHIS is an associate in the Atlanta law firm of Insley and Race, LLC, where his practice is devoted to general liability, healthcare law, medical malpractice defense, nursing home defense, premises liability, products liability defense and transportation/trucking liability. Mr. Mathis earned his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia. He is a member of the Mock Trial Board, Sports Law Society, Black Law School Association and the Student Bar Association. MELANIE S. TAYLOR is a civil litigation attorney in Atlanta with Bendin Sumrall & Ladner, LLC. Ms. Taylor's representation includes hospitals and individual medical providers in medical malpractice matters. She is also counsel for businesses ranging in size from two Fortune 100 companies to start-ups, including retail stores, an international financial institution and construction companies. In addition to litigation, Ms. Taylor is a coach for a high school mock trial team. She earned her law degree at Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degrees in political science and Spanish at Duke University. NATALIE S. WOODWARD is a partner in the law firm of Woodward & Stern, LLC, where her practice is focused on personal injury, family law, construction disputes and business litigation. She attended the University of Georgia where she graduated with degrees in journalism and political science in 1999. Ms. Woodward attended the University of Georgia School of Law and served as the chair of the Moot Court Board and a member of the championship Intrastate Moot Court Team. While in law school, she completed a summer clerkship with the Honorable Charles A. Pannell, Jr. in the United States District Court of the Northern District of Georgia. She also completed a summer clerkship at the Georgia Supreme Court for Justice Leah Sears. She is a previous member of the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Inn of Court, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar, the Leadership Academy and the Lawyers' Club of Atlanta.
