December 1 - Atlanta DAVID J. BEAUDRY is an attorney at the law firm of Meriwether & Tharp LLC. Mr. Beaudry practices exclusively in the area of family law and divorce. He has been a contributing researcher for several continuing legal education manuals on family law issues and is the author of "The Status of Gift Giving in a Georgia Divorce," Georgia Family Law Review (Feb., 2006). Mr. Beaudry was a presenter at "A Road Map Through Divorce Proceedings" (2007), "Divorce Issues in Georgia" (2008) and "Handling Divorce Cases From Start to Finish" (2009) CLE seminars sponsored by National Business Institute. He is a member of both the New Jersey State Bar and the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. Mr. Beaudry also is a member of the Family Law sections of the American and Atlanta bar associations. He earned his B.S. degree from Florida State University and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University. TAMAR OBERMAN FAULHABER is an attorney and head of the Domestic Relations Department at Vernis & Bowling of Atlanta, LLC. She is a trained guardian ad litem and domestic mediator, and over the past 17 years, has handled all types of family law matters, including divorces, child support, custody, legitimation and paternity, contempt, domestic violence, international custody disputes, appeals and jury trials. In addition to the practice of domestic litigation, Ms. Faulhaber also taught domestic relations law as an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. She is admitted to practice law in California, Arizona and Georgia, and is a member of the Family Law sections of the American and Atlanta bar associations. She served on the Rules Committee to establish and maintain the Fulton County Family Division, which has served as an example model of a family court to other counties in the state. Ms. Faulhaber also served on the Forms Committee of the Fulton County Family Law Information Center to assist citizens of the state to represent themselves in domestic matters. She earned her Bachelor's degree in philosophy, magna cum laude, with honors, from Lafayette College and her J.D. degree from UCLA Law School. JON W. HEDGEPETH is a partner with the Atlanta law firm of Hedgepeth & Heredia, LLC. He has practiced family law almost exclusively since 1991 and is a certified practitioner of collaborative law. Mr. Hedgepeth is a frequent lecturer at family law seminars and occasionally at law school classes in Atlanta. He earned his B.A. degree from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and his J.D. degree from Mercer University. Mr. Hedgepeth is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and he currently serves as the president of the Atlanta Bar Association Family Law Section. He is a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inns of Court, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Old Warhorse Lawyer's Club and 1000 Lawyers for Justice. Mr. Hedgepeth has been recognized in Georgia Trend Magazine as one of Georgia's "Legal Elite" and is listed in Worth Magazine as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in 2008. December 6 - Savannah KAREN DOVE BARR is the owner of Karen Dove Barr, Attorney at Law. She practices in the areas of real estate, family law, criminal law, civil litigation, immigration and naturalization. Ms. Barr has spoken to professionals on family law, landlord tenant issues and real estate law. She earned her B.A. degree from Mercer University and her J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School. Ms. Barr is a member of the Savannah Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. LAURIE M. THOMAS is the owner of The Law Offices of Laurie M. Thomas, Esq., where she practices in the areas of divorce, child support, child custody, civil actions, medical malpractice and personal injury. She also is an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau. Ms. Thomas is a member of the Savannah Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Port City Bar Association. She received her B.S. degree from Savannah State University and her J.D. degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Ms. Thomas is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Appellate Court of Georgia. GWENDOLYN FORTSON WARING is the owner of The Waring Law Firm, LLC, in Savannah. She is a sole practitioner and focuses her practice in the areas of general civil litigation, employment discrimination law, family law and probate law. Ms. Waring also is a special master for real state matters and has served as a referee for tax assessment arbitration appeals since 1997. She is admitted to the Georgia bar, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the Georgia Supreme Court; the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern districts of Georgia; the U.S. Court of Appeals; and the 11th and 4th Circuit Courts of Appeals.
