May 26 - Atlanta DONALD M. ETHERIDGE JR. is a partner in the Atlanta firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge, LLP, where his practice is concentrated in the areas of tax and estate planning for closely held business owners and high net worth individuals, as well as tax exempt organizations. He also is a certified public accountant. Mr. Etheridge lectures frequently on tax and estate planning issues, including sophisticated charitable giving techniques. He has written a number of tax planning publications, including the BNA Tax Management Portfolio on Charitable Income Trusts, and is the author of Portfolio on Private Foundations, Section 4940 and Section 4944. Mr. Etheridge earned his A.B. and J.D. degrees, magna cum laude, from Duke University and his LL.M. degree from Georgetown University. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (member, Tax Law Section), the North Carolina State Bar, the Georgia Society of CPAs, and the American Bar Association (member, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and Tax Section). BRUCE H. GAYNES is a founding shareholder in the Atlanta law firm of Kitchens Kelley Gaynes, P.C., where he practices in the areas of corporate, estate planning and tax matters. He is a certified public accountant. Mr. Gaynes is a frequent lecturer for various professional groups and organizations regarding matters ranging from estate planning and taxation to fundraising. GOODE is an attorney with the law firm of Perrotta, Cahn & Prieto, P.C., where he practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, asset protection, business law, international law, taxation, commercial leasing and complex business litigation. Mr. Goode is certified as a wealth preservation planner and an asset protection planner by the Wealth Preservation Institute. He speaks regularly to various groups on areas related to his practice and was formerly a professor of Business and Economics at Richmond College in London. Mr. Schaefer earned his B.A. degree from the University of Virginia, his J.D. degree from Georgia State University, his M.S. degree from Georgia State University and his M.B.A. degree from Northeastern University. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the State Bar of Georgia (Fiduciary Law and Elder Law sections), and the Savannah Estate Planning Council. ARON G. WEINER is a partner in the Savannah law firm of Weiner, Shearouse, Weitz, Greenberg & Shawe, LLP, where his areas of practice include probate law, business law, commercial and residential law, real estate law and estate planning. He has been the county conservator of Chatham County and ex-officio county administrator since 1965, and is a past assistant county attorney.
