JED S. BEARDSLEY is a shareholder in the Atlanta office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, business and tax law. Mr. Beardsley has experience in the national and local acquisition, sale, exchange, development, construction and leasing of commercial real estate, joint venture partnerships, operating agreements, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and corporate governance, structuring and implementing complicated like-kind exchange transactions, estate planning; and equity and debt capital for growth companies. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (past member, Executive Committee of Real Property Law Section), the Atlanta Bar Association and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Beardsley earned his B.A. degree from the University of Virginia, his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law and his M.B.A. degree from Emory University. ELIZABETH W. BOSWELL is an attorney with Carol Clark Law. She is a trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in environmental law. She has prosecuted and defended pollution cases, including participating in the defense of the second and last power line/cancer case to be tried to verdict in the U.S. and the successful defense of fatality cases under the Mine Safety and Health Act. Ms. Boswell also counsels corporate and real estate clients on environmental aspects of transactions. She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Davidson College and her J.D. degree, with high honors, from the Emory University School of Law where she was awarded the Order of the Coif and served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Emory Law Journal. An active leader in the environmental law community, Ms. Boswell has served as vice chair of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Committee on Environmental Crimes and Enforcement. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Environmental Law Section). Ms. Boswell is a past president of the Environmental and Toxic Tort Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. She has authored or served as a contributing editor for the Georgia Environmental Law Handbook, Georgia Environmental Law Special Reports and articles on such subjects as hazardous substance release reporting requirements and evidentiary admissibility issues under Daubert and its state law counterparts. MICHAEL S. RODGERS is a partner in the real estate group at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He represents developers and owners of residential, resort and mixed-use properties and he has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate development law. Mr. Rodgers' practice also includes landlord-tenant law, including drafting and negotiating leases with respect to commercial components of mixed-use properties; commercial lending, including borrower and lender representation in connection with real estate acquisition, development and construction loans; and corporate law, with a focus on charitable and nonprofit organizations. He frequently speaks at continuing legal education seminars across the country on a variety of real estate topics, and he has written articles for Urban Land, Commercial Investment Real Estate, Southeast Real Estate Business, Multi-Housing News, and Multifamily Executive. Mr. Rodgers is presently drafting a treatise on mixed-use real estate to be published by the Law Journal Press. He is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Urban Land Institute, serving on ULI's Inner City Council. Mr. Rodgers earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from The College of William and Mary, and his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law. KEVIN A. STINE is a shareholder with the Atlanta, Georgia office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, and has significant experience in all areas of litigation, including bench and jury trials in state and federal courts, and various forms of alternative dispute resolution such as arbitrations and mediations. He focuses his commercial and business litigation practice on bankruptcy, insolvency, creditor's rights, secured transactions, and intellectual property issues. In addition, Mr. Stine advises clients on a wide range of legal issues, ranging from contracts and employment matters to corporate governance and property rights. His proactive approach with his clients includes practical legal advice to avoid disputes, where feasible. For instance, Mr. Stine has helped clients negotiate and draft loan agreements, liens and related debt instruments, standard contractual terms and conditions, restrictive covenants and other employment agreements, policies and procedures, and minutes, resolutions, notices and other corporate instruments. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Foundation (Fellow), the Atlanta (Litigation and Bankruptcy sections), and the American (Business Law, Litigation, and Tort Trial and Insurance Practice sections) bar associations. Mr. Stine earned his B.S. degree from Florida State University and his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law. DAVID A. WEISSMANN is a member of the law firm of Weissmann Zucker Euster P.C., where he practices in the areas of commercial real estate, secured lending, corporate and business law. He earned his B.A. degree, with distinction, Echols Scholar, from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where he served on the Law Review and was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law. Mr. Weissmann is a member of the American Bar Association, chairman on the eCLE Committee for Real Property and Probate, and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is a frequent speaker on real estate law issues, including "A Response to Disaster: Changed Conditions on Termination of Property Restrictions and Covenants;" ABA Real Property and Probate Meeting, San Diego; "Title Issues on Purchase Contracts," National Business Institute; "Understanding the Insurance Provisions of Commercial Leases and Mortgage Loan Documentation," and "19th Annual Real Property Law Institute," Sea Island, Georgia.
