NATHAN N. BALINT is a shareholder with Akerman Senterfitt LLP, where his practice has focused on both the purchase and sale sides of merger, acquisition, and leveraged buyout transactions; including the equity and debt arrangements associated with such deals. He has primarily represented private equity clients while working on transactions in a broad range of industries, including online and traditional retail; health care; education; and energy. Mr. Balint also has represented venture capital funds in the completion of equity investments, and has participated in general corporate representations and governance matters. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Rochester and his J.D. degree from New York University School of Law. Mr. Balint is a member of The Florida Bar and the New York State Bar Association. ROBERT H. BUCHANAN is the founding shareholder of the business valuations group at PCE Investment Bankers, Inc. He manages PCE's research and monitoring of court rulings, IRS rulings and IRS pronouncements that affect the valuation industry, providing timely and targeted analyses for client valuations. Mr. Buchanan performed hundreds of valuations of varying complexity for business planning, estate & gift planning, accounting compliance, transactions and litigation support. In addition, he grew several businesses, including two successful business turnarounds, allowing him to understand what it takes to build and grow a business and create value for stockholders. Mr. Buchanan collaborated on a budget-design project for Walt Disney World and worked on a U.S. Senate's Special Investigative Committee. He earned his Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Central Florida and his J.D. degree from Washington and Lee University Law School. Mr. Buchanan is a member of The American Society of Appraisers and is a speaker on valuations issues throughout the state of Florida. MICHAEL A. OKATY is a partner with Foley & Lardner and is founder and chair of the firm's senior living industry team. He is a member of the firm's business law department and its transactional & securities, finance & financial institutions and public finance practices, as well as the health care industry team. Mr. Okaty focuses primarily in the areas of corporate and finance law. He also served as chair of the firm's associates committee. Mr. Okaty has experience in mergers and acquisitions, sale and leaseback transactions, lease and management agreements, and financings. He also provides general corporate counseling. Mr. Okaty has experience in a wide variety of corporate law matters, including corporate formation, corporate operations and governance, contract drafting, review and negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising transactions for both public and private companies. He also has experience representing clients in numerous types of financial transactions, including serving as bond counsel, borrower's counsel, underwriter's counsel, disclosure counsel, issuer's counsel and credit enhancer's counsel. Mr. Okaty has also worked on numerous municipal financings, 501(c) (3) bond issues, industrial development bond issues and numerous tax exempt multifamily housing bond issues. He was a graduate of the New York University School of Law, where he was the article and note editor for the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. Mr. Okaty earned his LL.M. degree from the New York University School of Law. He earned bachelor's degrees in both accounting and finance, magna cum laude, from the University of Central Florida. Mr. Okaty is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida and New York and before the U.S. Tax Court.
MARK D. SCHEINBLUM is a partner with Lowndes Drosdick Doster Kantor & Reed, P.A., where he is a team leader in the firm's corporate and securities group. Mr. Scheinblum has a diverse business law practice, including corporate and securities, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity, secured transactions, and licensing. He has substantial experience representing buyers and sellers in mergers, acquisitions and consolidation transactions, including the representation of large, multi-national corporations in connection with acquisition programs, consolidation of businesses in various industries, and sales of mid-size corporations. Mr. Scheinblum is active in the representation and formation of growth companies, joint ventures and strategic relationships, including the financing of ventures through private equity and venture capital, and he is an active member of the MERITAS Private Equity Group. He also routinely provides general corporate representation to numerous clients as outside general counsel. Mr. Scheinblum earned his B.A degree, with honors, from Emory University, and hisĀ J.D. degree, with honors, from Duke University School of Law, where he was a staff editor of the Duke Law Journal. Mr. Scheinblum is admitted to The Florida Bar and the New York State Bar Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar and the Orange County BarĀ Association.
