VICKI J. BOWERS has practiced elder law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, and long term care planning since 1997, and in 2008 she established Vicki Joiner Bowers, PA. Ms. Bowers is certified in elder law by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, and by The National Elder Law Foundation. She is also accredited by the Veterans Administration. Ms. Bowers is among the 5% of Florida lawyers named in Florida Super Lawyers for 2008, 2009 and 2010. She frequently speaks on elder law and planning issues, and has published articles on advance directives and long term care planning. Ms. Bowers earned her B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from Jacksonville University and her J.D. degree from Stetson University College of Law, where she was a member of the Stetson Law Review. She is a member of The Florida Bar (member, Elder Law Section) and serves on the Elder Law Certification Committee. JASON D. LAZARUS is a settlement planner working exclusively for injury victims nationwide. Mr. Lazarus is one of the owners of Synergy Settlement Services, a group of companies offering settlement consulting services, with offices across the country. He also is the managing partner and founder of Settlement Law Firm, a Florida law firm that provides legal services related to public benefit preservation and qualified settlement funds. Prior to starting his settlement planning practice and founding Settlement Law Firm, Mr. Lazarus practiced as a medical malpractice and workers' compensation attorney in Orlando.
