CHARLES F. BEALL JR. is a shareholder with the law form Moore, Hill & Westmoreland, P.A. in Pensacola, Florida, where he has practiced since 1996. He is board certified in both civil trial and appellate practice by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Beall has handled more than 140 appellate matters in state and federal courts, and has conducted more than 40 oral arguments, resulting in more than 30 published opinions. At the trial court level, Mr. Beall has represented hundreds of clients ranging from individual homeowners to multinational corporations, including several Fortune 500 companies, in a variety of civil litigation, including products liability suits, contract claims, and insurance coverage disputes, He has tried more than a dozen civil jury trials to verdict. He has handled more than a hundred insurance coverage disputes with roughly half for insurance companies and the other half for insureds. He has advised several insurers of their obligations under insurance policies prior to litigation and drafted numerous opinion letters on coverage. He has briefed insurance coverage issues on several occasions before the 1st District Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Florida. Mr. Beall is a past chair of The Florida Bar's Appellate Practice Certification Committee and served on the Committee from 2004 through 2010. He served as president of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association. Mr. Beall is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law where he was selected to serve on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review. From 1991 through 1996, he was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., where he specialized in government contract disputes and appellate litigation. STEPHEN M. COZART is a shareholder with the law firm Kubicki Draper where his areas of practice include automobile, premises liability, trucking, commercial/corporate, construction defects, municipal law, medical malpractice, professional liability, environmental/pollution and workers' compensation. He has spent most of his career representing insurance companies and their insureds. He handles all types of personal injury claims, including automobile liability and premises liability. He also practices municipal liability law and commercial litigation. Mr. Cozart is licensed to practice in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi, and he maintains an active practice in all three states. Mr. Cozart earned his B.A. degree from the University of Alabama and his J.D. degree from the Mississippi College School of Law where he was the comment editor for the Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. He is a member of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association, The Florida Bar, The Mississippi Bar and the Alabama State Bar. DANIEL J. THORNBURGH rejoined the law firm of Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz, PLLC, as a lawyer in 2007 and primarily practices in the ares of pharmaceutical litigation, medical device litigation, consumer class actions, wrongful death, personal injury, and long-term care and health insurance disputes. He is currently involved in the following matters, Avandia, Fosamax, Gadolinium, Fleet Phospho-Soda, Fen-Phen, Trasylol, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and miscellaneous long-term care and health insurance litigation. Mr. Thornburgh was selected in 2010 as a "Rising Star" in the areas of personal injury and products liability. No more than 2.5 percent of the attorneys in the state of Florida are named to this list. "Rising Stars" are selected through a nomination process, peer evaluation and internal research conducted by Law & Politics. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of West Florida where he studied legal administration. In 2004, Mr. Thornburgh attendee Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he received his J.D. degree and graduated with honors (cum laude). During law school, Mr. Thornburgh gained trial experience through mock and moot court trial competitions and in 2006 was named a top 10 trial advocate. He is currently licensed to practice law in Florida, Minnesota and the U.S. District Court for the MIddle District of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Minnesota Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the First Circuit Justice Association.
