JASON P. HERMAN is one of four founding partners of Southern Trial Counse,l PLC, an Orlando, Florida based law firm that represents corporations and businesses in litigation and trial-related matters. He formerly headed the Florida office of Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP, where he focused his practice on insurance defense matters, complex lawsuits involving toxic torts and asbestos claims, mold and silica claims, and pharmaceutical product claims. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Herman was associated with the Orlando based firm of Longwell & Cairns, P.A., where his practice focused on litigating and trying major felony cases. From 2001-2005 Mr. Herman had been associated with Cabaniss Smith Toole & Wiggins, PL, where his practice was completely devoted to the defense and jury trial of product liability, catastrophic risk matters and insurance defense. Throughout his career, Mr. Herman has had the opportunity to represent some of the largest insurance companies and manufacturers in the U.S. In doing so, he has handled every aspect of the litigation process from advanced motion practice to jury trial and all the way through to appeal. Mr. Herman has lectured and been published on litigation skills, trial techniques and current topics in product liability jurisprudence. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Court for Southern, Middle and Northern districts of Florida and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Herman is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar and the Defense Research Institute. Appointed by the President of The Florida Bar, he serves on the Student Education and Bar Admissions Committee. (Orlando and Tampa locations) STEVEN E HOVSEPIAN is an attorney with the Tampa firm of Barbas Nunez Sanders Butler & Hovsepian, where he focuses his practice in the areas of workers' compensation and labor and employment. Mr. Hovsepian has been admitted to practice by The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court (Middle District of Florida) and the U.S. Court of Appeals (11th Circuit). He is a member of the Hillsborough County and American (section of labor and employment law) bar associations, and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Mr. Hovsepian earned his B.S. degree from Rutgers University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Widener University School of Law. (Tampa location) CLEMENT L. HYLAND is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit court mediator, a certified mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, a 5th District Court of Appeals Approved Mediator, a Florida Supreme Court qualified arbitrator and the owner of Hyland Mediation, LLC, in Orlando. Prior to becoming a full time mediator and arbitrator in July 2007, he represented individuals (Morgan & Morgan) and corporations and insurance companies (Zimmerman, Kiser and Sutcliffe) in cases involving personal injury, commercial and labor and employment matters in state, federal and appellate courts for more than 33 years. Mr. Hyland earned his B.A. degree from St. Lawrence University, his J.D. degree from DePaul University and his LL.M. degree from George Washington University. (Orlando location)
