TAMATHA ALVAREZ is a partner with the law firm Martin Lister & Alvarez, PLC, where her areas of practice include civil trial practice, personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, premises liability, products liability and civil rights violations. Ms. Alvarez earned her B.S. degree from Seattle University and her J.D. degree from St. Thomas University. She is admitted to practice in Florida; the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals; U.S. District Court, Southern and Middle District of Florida; and is a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. Ms. Alvarez is a member of The Florida Bar; the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the Broward County, Miami-Dade and American bar associations; the Florida Justice Association; and the Florida Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Ms. Alvarez is a former assistant city attorney for Hollywood, Florida. NICOLE F. DIXON currently works for Miami-Dade Police Department, Police Legal Bureau as a police legal advisor. She is responsible for providing legal advice to the director of the Miami-Dade Police Department, command staff and other sworn police officials and conducting research on a variety of legal issues affecting the department. She also prosecutes civil forfeiture actions and coordinates various litigation matters and departmental documents for legal sufficiency. Other duties include legal instruction at the Miami-Dade Public Safety Training Institute, reviewing amendments to Florida statutes, drafting ordinances and resolutions. Prior to working for the Miami-Dade Police Department, Ms. Dixon worked for the Office of the Attorney General, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As an assistant attorney general, Ms. Dixon, represented the State of Florida in child welfare matters; provided counsel advice to protective investigators and community-based care (CBC) partners in child welfare legal issues; coordinated with those investigators and CBC partners to review potential cases and prepared those personnel as witnesses in filed cases; and representing the state in court in all Chapter 39 dependency cases, at the trial court. Ms. Dixon also taught at Keiser University in their legal studies program. Ms. Dixon completed her undergraduate studies at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Ms. Dixon then attended the University of Miami School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor. Ms. Dixon is a member of The Florida Bar; the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA); and the Florida Association of Police Attorneys, Inc. Ms. Dixon is the chairperson for the Board of Directors for Mount Olive Development Corporation, a non-profit organization. SETH E. MILES is an attorney with Grossman Roth PA, where he specializes in personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, pesticide exposure, negligent security, automobile accident, medical malpractice, business tort and class action cases. Mr. Miles graduated from Northwestern University and earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center. Following law school, Mr. Miles served as a law clerk to the Honorable Patricia A. Seitz on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. After clerking, Mr. Miles worked in the litigation department of an international law firm. He then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's office in the Southern District of Florida.
