CYNTHIA J. DIENSTAG is the principal of Cynthia J. Dienstag, P.A., with offices in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. She has focused her practice on marital and family law related matters since 1989. Ms. Dienstag is a certified family court mediator and appointed mentor by the Chief Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit. She is a Put Something Back award recipient from the 11th Judicial Circuit; listed among Who's Who in American Law, 1998-99 edition and Who's Who of American Women, 2006-2007 edition; chosen by Florida Trend as one of the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Florida Legal Elite; a member of the Florida International University Alumni Associate Executive Board of Directors; and a lecturer for National Business Institute seminars. Ms. Dienstag also is featured as one of the state of Florida's Super Lawyers for 2007 with the Miami Herald. She earned her A.A. degree from Florida State University, her B.S. degree from Florida International University and her J.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Ms. Dienstag's memberships include Honorary Society of First Family Law Inns of Court, the Miami-Dade County Bar Family Law Section (vice chair) and Broward County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Professionalism Committee for the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar. JEROME H. POLIACOFF, Ph.D., P.A., is a child, adolescent and adult psychologist licensed in the state of Florida since 1984. Dr. Poliacoff earned his undergraduate degree from the City University of New York and his master's doctoral degrees from the University of Miami, Coral Gables. His clinical training included pre- and post-doctoral internships at the Children's Psychiatric Centers in Miami, Florida. Dr. Poliacoff has been a staff consultant to the Northwest Dade Community Mental Health Center, where he conducted the pre-doctoral internship training in child assessment; and on the staff of Charter Hospital of Miami, where he served as co-director of an adult inpatient unit and director of the Adult Group Psychotherapy program. He is a frequent consulting and testifying expert in both the Family and Dependency courts in Florida's 11th and 17th Judicial Circuits; an expert in cases involving discrimination and harassment claims in Federal employment law cases; an expert in the assessment and defense of tort claims for emotional damages in cases involving children, adolescents and adults; and he serves as a Level III third party review expert of pediatric patient insurance appeals for the National Medical Review of Pennsylvania. In addition, Dr. Poliacoff has conducted over one hundred hardship, violence against women and/or asylum evaluations in immigration related matters, and has been accepted as an expert in all aspects of psychology in testimony before the Immigration Courts in South Florida, Orlando, and Massachusetts (Boston). He has presented as a lecturer before numerous legal audiences and has had articles published in bar journals on various topics including alternative approaches to litigation, examining the premise of equal timesharing, psychologists dual role conflicts, mental examinations in federal employment litigation and parental alienation (Frye v Gardner in Florida Courts.) Dr. Poliacoff most recent article "What Does Love Have to Do With It? The Psychology of Prenuptial Agreements" appeared this past spring in a special issue of the ABA 's Family Law Section magazine Family Advocate. He maintains a private practice in which his time is spent writing and providing both clinical and forensic services. EDWARD S. SACHS has spent more than 20 years as a forensic accountant building an expertise in litigation and valuation matters. Mr. Sachs joined Appelrouth, Farah & Co. in 1999 as director of the litigation services department supervising all business valuations, forensic accounting and ad valorem tax appeals handled by the firm. He serves as an expert witness in federal and circuit courts and as a forensic accounting and valuation consultant to legal counsel. He is a certified public accountant, is accredited in Business Valuation and Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is certified as a forensic accountant by the American College of Forensic Examiners. Mr. Sachs earned his B.S. degree from the University of South Florida. He is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a recipient of a Put Something Back award from the Dade County Bar Association for his pro bono contributions to the Dade County Legal Aid Society and the 2010 Key Partners Award Recipient in Accounting from the South Florida Business Journal.
