J. ROCCO CAFARO is a shareholder with Hill Ward Henderson. His practice includes construction and design matters, commercial/business litigation, and products liability. In addition, Mr. Cafaro has defended one of the world's largest automotive corporations and numerous other large companies in products liability, premises liability and casualty cases. He is board certified in construction by The Florida Bar. Mr. Cafaro is active in professional and bar related activities. He served two years as an elected director on the board of the Young Lawyer's Division of the Hillsborough County Bar and currently serves in leadership positions for several organizations. Mr. Cafaro is admitted to practice in all Florida state and federal courts. MEIROSE JR. is a shareholder in the Tampa law firm of Meirose & Friscia, P.A., where he practices in construction law and related areas. He is a certified mediator in the state of Florida. Mr. Meirose is a frequent lecturer on construction topics for various construction groups. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree from Stetson University Law School. Mr. Meirose is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association; the Hillsborough County, St. Petersburg and American (member, Fidelity and Surety Committee of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section; Construction Industry Forum Committee) bar associations; The Florida Bar; the American Society for Testing and Materials; the American Bankruptcy Institute; and the Commercial Law League of America. JOHN J. THRESHER is a senior associate attorney with Thresher P.A. Since being admitted to the bar, Mr. Thresher has limited his practice to matters involving construction and surety law. He has significant experience in lien foreclosure actions, payment and performance bond claims, indemnity actions, construction defect matters, and scheduling/delay issues. Mr. Thresher has actively participated in preparing complex cases for trial and has handled multiple arbitrations from institution through final hearing. He has experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions and discovery, taking depositions, oral argument, mediation, and drafting appeals. Mr. Thresher became the second attorney at the firm board certified by the Florida Bar in construction law in July 2009, and has authored seminar materials on design and construction law issues, liens, surety bonds, contract drafting, and alternative dispute resolution. He has spoken, and remains an active speaker, on topics related to construction law. Mr. Thresher earned his B.A. degree from Florida Southern College and his J.D. Degree from Stetson University College of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar and Hillsborough County Bar Association. JOSEPH G. THRESHER is the principal of the Tampa based law firm of Thresher P.A., where he limits his practice to litigation of matters involving construction and surety law. He is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. Mr. Thresher has experience in representing nearly every segment of the construction industry, including governmental agencies, private developers, construction lenders, general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers and distributors, engineers, architects, sureties, and insurance companies. He has lectured at seminars and presented papers for The Florida Bar, continuing legal education programs, surety institutes, various construction industry associations and governmental agencies. Mr. Thresher earned his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He has been a member of the American Bar Association and The Florida Bar committees and sections involved in government contracts, construction law, and surety and insurance law related to the construction industry.
