HON. MARK J. DeGENNARO is the sitting Judge of Probate for the District of West Haven. Judge DeGennaro is also the managing partner in the West Haven law firm of Donahue, Votto & DeGennaro, P.C., where he practices primarily in the areas of probate, real estate and landlord/tenant matters. He has presented seminars in a variety of topics including probate practice, title issues, residential closings and practice in Housing Court. Judge DeGennaro earned his B.A. degree from Brown University and his J.D. degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Law (now Quinnipiac). He is a member of the Connecticut, New Haven County and West Haven bar associations, having just finished a term as president of the latter. In addition, Judge DeGennaro has served as deputy corporation counsel for the city of West Haven and has acted as special counsel in planning and zoning matters. NEIL P. PHILLIPS is a partner at Lennon Murphy Caulfield & Phillips, LLC, where he represents individual clients in developing and implementing estate plans that are focused on preserving assets and minimizing taxation. Mr. Phillips counsels clients on elder law issues, financing long-term care, creating health care directives and implementing lifetime asset transfers. He also represents individuals and fiduciaries in connection with trust administration, conservatorships of persons and estates, and settlement of decedents' estates including probate administration. Mr. Phillips received his B.A. degree from Muhlenberg College in 1989, his J.D. degree from Syracuse University, College of Law in 1995, and his M.S. degree in labor relations from the University of New Haven in 2001. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York and the District of Columbia. Mr. Phillips is a member of the American, Connecticut and Fairfield County bar associations. He is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and also serves as a co-chair of the Estates and Probate Section of the Fairfield County Bar Association. THOMAS A. ROBINSON is a partner in the Manchester law firm of Penny, Botticello & O'Brien, P.C., where he practices in the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning, probate, estate administration and settlement, and real estate and business counsel. He is a frequent speaker on the areas of Medicaid planning, general estate organization planning, discussed changes in DRA, as well as federal estate tax exemptions, state tax exemptions, and gift tax. Mr. Robinson earned his B.A. degree from Trinity College and his J.D. degree from Tulane University. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association (member, Elder Law, Probate and Estate sections), the Manchester Bar Association, the Hartford County Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). VICTORIA SPELLMAN is a partner in the law firm of Spellman & Kelly, LLC. Ms. Spellman has been practicing law since 1978, and is licensed in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In Connecticut, her practice includes real estate, probate, wills, trusts, estate planning, estate and trust taxation, contracts, business and finance. In Massachusetts, her practice includes real estate. Ms. Spellman has received a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of "Distinguished Attorney." She conducts seminars and lectures on estate planning, probate and trusts. Ms. Spellman is a member of the Estates and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
