TONYA L. MELNICHENKO is an attorney with the law firm Franklin D. Azar & Associates, P.C., where she practices in the areas of personal injury and mass torts. Ms. Melnichenko earned her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and her J.D. degree from the Albany Law School. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. KENNETH B. PENNYWELL is an attorney in the law firm of Franklin D. Azar & Associates, P.C., where he practices in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation and attorney ethics. He formerly served as an assistant district attorney for the 1st Judicial District in Shreveport. Mr. Pennywell worked for seven years with the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation as a trial attorney, handling ethical violations on the part of Colorado licensed attorneys. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Southern University. Mr. Pennywell is a member of the Colorado and Louisiana bar associations, and a former member of the National District Attorney Counsel. DARIN L. SCHANKER is a shareholder in the Denver firm of Bachus & Schanker, LLC, where he practices in the areas of personal injury, insurance, product liability and medical negligence. He has lectured to various groups on areas related to his practice. Mr. Schanker earned his B.S. degree from Wheaton College and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (officer and past president) and the American Association for Justice. Mr. Schanker was named "Young Trial Lawyer of the Year" for 2003 by the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He was selected as a Colorado SuperLawyer for 2007 through 2010. The American Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA) selected Mr. Schanker as one of the "Top 100 Lawyers" in Colorado in 2009 and 2010.
