DONALD D. ALLEN is of counsel with the law firm of Markus Williams Young & Zimmermann LLC. Mr. Allen has more than 25 years of experience with bankruptcy court litigation in bankruptcy courts from Colorado and California to Delaware, New York and Nevada. He is a business bankruptcy specialist certified by the American Board of Certification. Mr. Allen has presented numerous continuing professional education seminars dealing with bankruptcy, foreclosure, real estate and title issues. He also served as an instructor of business law at the University of Phoenix for five years. Mr. Allen earned his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his J.D. degree from the University of Santa Clara, where he was an editor for the Santa Clara Law Review and earned the Trial Attorney's Outstanding Oral Advocate Award. Mr. Allen is a former co-chair of the Colorado Bar Association bankruptcy subsections and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. ROBERT T. EDWARDS is national counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company in its Denver office. For many years previously, Mr. Edwards was senior vice president and general title counsel for United General Title Insurance Company. He was a state public defender in Mississippi before entering a real estate and civil litigation law practice in Memphis, Tennessee, where he practiced for several years. After relocating to Colorado, Mr. Edwards served as Rocky Mountain Regional Counsel for other title insurance underwriters before joining United General Title Insurance Company. The majority of his 35 plus years of law practice has been devoted to real estate transactions and litigation, and title insurance, as both in-house and outside counsel. Mr. Edwards is admitted to practice in Colorado, Tennessee and Mississippi. He is a past president of the Land Title Association of Colorado and continues to serve on the Education and Legislative committees of that association. Mr. Edwards also serves on the Title Standards Committee of the Colorado Bar Association and the Forms Committee of the American Land Title Association. He has written numerous articles and frequently lectures on real estate law and title insurance-related topics. Mr. Edwards earned his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. TERYL R. GORRELL is a shareholder of the firm Gorrell Giles Gollata PC, which concentrates its practice in the areas of real estate, finance, banking and entity representation. Mr Gorrell has practiced real estate law for more than 30 years. He represents developers and capital providers in the structuring, development and operation of a wide variety of projects in the United States and Mexico. These include commercial, medical, industrial, retail, resort, residential, condominium, affordable housing, historic preservation and mixed use developments. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Gorrell worked for a number of years in his family's real estate business. He was a principal drafter of legislation authorizing the electronic recording of documents by the Clerks and Recorders in the State of Colorado. Mr. Gorrell lectures to both professional and trade associations on real estate and title insurance topics. He has been selected as one of Colorado's Super Lawyers for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 by Law & Politics and 5280 Magazine. Mr. Gorrell also has been named as one of the Best Real Estate Lawyers in America 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. He earned his B.A. degree, with highest honors, from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law. Mr. Gorrell is a member of the Colorado (member, Construction Law, Real Property and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections) and Denver bar associations and a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Historic Denver, Inc. ALEXANDER R. ROTHROCK is a shareholder with the Englewood law firm of Burns, Figa & Will, P.C. His practice areas include legal ethics and the law of practicing law. Mr. Rothrock earned his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law. He is the author of the book, Essays on Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct in Colorado (Continuing Legal Education of Colorado, Inc. 2003) and he is a frequent speaker for various professional groups. Mr. Rothrock is admitted to practice in the states of Colorado and Illinois; the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Colorado and Northern Illinois; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. He is a former chair of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee.
