DAVID W. KIRCH, in private practice in Colorado, has concentrated his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate and trust administration for the past 37 years. Mr. Kirch has been a lecturer on trusts and estates at the University of Denver Law School. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from California Lutheran College and his J.D. degree from the University of Colorado. Mr. Kirch is the column editor of the Estate and Trust Forum of the Colorado Lawyers. He has served as liaison between the Trusts and Estates Section and the Real Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association since 2009. Mr. Kirch is past chairman of the Trust and Estate Section of The Colorado Bar Association, past chairman of the Statutory Revisions Committee of the Probate and Trust Section of The Colorado Bar Association and past co-chairman of the CBA Wills and Trust Form Book Revisions Committee. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Denver Estate Planning Council. Mr. Kirch is recognized as one of Colorado's top attorneys in the Trusts and Estates Law by 5280 Magazine. JANE C. PADDISON is a sole practitioner in Boulder with Jane Caddell Paddison, P.C. She has been practicing for more than 25 years in the areas of federal and state taxation, with a special emphasis in the estate, gift and generation skipping transfer tax areas. Ms. Paddison has represented clients in tax planning as well as tax controversy matters before the U.S. Tax Court, the Internal Revenue Service, and local taxing authorities. She is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, the U.S. Tax Court and the Louisiana State Bar Association. Ms. Paddison earned her B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Maine, her J.D. degree from the University of New Hampshire Law School (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) and her LL.M. degree from Boston University. She has a rating of “AV” by the nationally renowned publication Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating for excellence of practice and ethical standards, and is included in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers for 2010. Ms. Paddison is a former column editor of the Trust and Estate Law column for the Colorado Lawyer (1993-1994), and has been a lecturer at numerous continuing legal education programs. She currently serves on the legal committee of the Boulder Community Foundation, and provides her guidance to student participants of the Denver University Law School Wills Lab program. SCOTT W. STAUFFER is an attorney and certified public accountant in Aurora, Colorado, where he actively practices in both professions, emphasizing the areas of tax preparation, planning, research and controversy negotiations, financial analysis, real estate, estate planning, probate administration, and business planning and law. He received his B.B.A. degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver. Mr. Stauffer is a member of the Denver (past chair, Law Office Management and Intraprofessional committees), Colorado (member, Taxation and Trust and Estates sections, Ethics Committee and Legal Fee Arbitration Committee; past chair, Solo/Small Firm Section) and American Bar Associations, the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (past member, Board of Directors; past chair, Federal Taxation Committee), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and the Denver Tax Association (past chair). He has been speaking at seminars for more than 25 years and is a frequent lecturer for National Business Institute. STEVEN R. WARDEN is the sole practitioner of Steven R. Warden, P.C., in Denver, where he practices in the area of estate and trust planning, estate and trust administration, wills and elder law. He has lectured to various professional groups at educational seminars, including the Metropolitan State College on probate, decedents, estates, wills and trusts. Mr. Warden is a member of the Probate and Trust Section of the Colorado Bar Association and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association, for which he served as vice chair of the Special Problems of Guardians and Conservators Committee. He is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the past president of the Board of Directors of Seniors, Inc., a nonprofit agency benefiting senior citizens, and a past member of the Mile High United Way Planned Giving Committee. Mr. Warden earned his B.A. degree from Hastings College and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver.
