DONALD D. ALLEN is of counsel with the law firm of Markus Williams Young & Zimmermann LLC. Mr. Allen has more than 25 years of experience advising borrowers and commercial lenders regarding sale and financing of real property, with an emphasis on distressed property situations. He is a business bankruptcy specialist certified by the American Board of Certification. Mr. Allen has presented numerous continuing professional education seminars dealing with foreclosure, bankruptcy, real estate and title issues. He has also served as an instructor of business law at the University of Phoenix for five years. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his J.D. degree from the University of Santa Clara, where he was an editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and earned the Trial Attorney's Outstanding Oral Advocate Award. Mr. Allen is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. CAREN JACOBS CASTLE is the managing attorney for the mortgage services division at Castle Meinhold & Stawiarski, LLC. She practices in the areas of real estate and commercial law with an emphasis in residential and commercial foreclosures. Ms. Castle earned her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Occidental College, Los Angeles, California, and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Southwestern University School of Law. She is a member of the Denver and Colorado bar associations and the State Bar of California. Ms. Castle has spoken extensively to mortgage bankers and other professionals across the country on such issues as foreclosures, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and loss mitigation. BEVERLY L. EDWARDS is a founding member of the firm of Edwards & Taylor, LLC. Her practice has focused on the area of creditors' rights for more than 20 years. She has represented consumer, commercial, real estate and agricultural lenders in foreclosure actions throughout the state of Colorado. She has extensive experience in public trustee and judicial foreclosures, loan workouts and collections. Ms Edwards has also represented commercial, consumer, real estate and agricultural lenders in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Her bankruptcy experience includes relief from stay proceedings, cash collateral, dischargeability issues, plan confirmation and other matters affecting her creditor clients. She has lectured on collection of accounts receivable for credit officers and the automatic stay in bankruptcy for the Colorado Bar Association. Ms Edwards has presented seminars on foreclosures and bankruptcies for banker's organizations. She has also written articles on foreclosure, bankruptcy and collection issues for banker's periodicals on such topics as the new foreclosure law, "The Automatic Stay in Serial Bankruptcy Filings,""The New Foreclosure Deferment Program" and "Revised Qualifications for Chapter 12 Bankruptcies." DEANNE R. STODDEN is the managing attorney for the foreclosure and eviction departments at Castle Meinhold & Stawiarski, LLC. Ms. Stodden oversees attorneys and paralegals on routine foreclosure matters, as well as, non-routine foreclosures, commercial foreclosures and loss mitigation. Ms. Stodden earned her B.S. degree in journalism and her B.A. degree in international affairs from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She earned her J.D. degree from the University of Denver, where she was a staff writer for the Preventive Law Reporter and winner of five moot court competitions. Ms. Stodden clerked for two years for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado, where she worked primarily in the civil litigation and appellate divisions. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. Ms. Stodden is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver bar associations and the Colorado Women's Bar Association. She is a frequent speaker on foreclosures, evictions, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other related real estate and mortgage banking topics.
