PAUL J. BAUER is a shareholder with Walter & Wilhelm Law Group with extensive experience consulting and representing employers in employment litigation, including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, wage and hour violations, and many forms of discrimination. He has a proven track record for having lawsuits dismissed at the summary judgment stage, as well as effectively and swiftly negotiating settlements. Mr. Bauer was named a 2010 and 2011 Rising Star by Super Lawyer magazine, which is awarded to less than 2.5% of California's attorneys. He advises employers on legal compliance and litigation prevention measures. Mr. Bauer trains employers on preventing harassment and other Equal Employment Opportunity issues in the workplace. He is a qualified trainer under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and has served as an arbitrator for the AAA Customer Account Panel. Mr. Bauer has defended private and public employers against employment-related lawsuits before state and federal courts. He served as a policy consultant to California State Senator Charles S. Poochigian and the Senate Republican Caucus, advising members on legislation affecting employers. Mr. Bauer serves as a director for the Fresno County Bar Association and is the legislative director of the Human Resource Association of Central California. He is admitted to practice before all trial and appellate courts of the state of California and the U.S. District Courts in California. Mr. Bauer is actively engaged in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for Valley Crime Stoppers and the Central Valley Business Incubator. He also serves as the chair of the Fresno County Blue Ribbon Business Committee and vice-chair of the Fresno Regional Workforce Investment Board. BRENDA BUDKE is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with Sierra HR Partners, Inc., who has more than 20 years experience in the human resource field. Prior to joining Sierra HR Partners, Inc., she served as the human resources manager for a communications company with 850 employees, overseeing employment, employee relations and training. Ms. Budke is the founder and dean of a corporate university and has developed curriculum and presented performance-based training at all levels. She earned her B.S.degree from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Budke currently serves on the board of the Central California Employment Round Table (CCERT) working in conjunction with DFEH to prevent harassment and discrimination in the workplace; is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and past-president for the Human Resource Association of Central California (HRACC). Recently she served as Deputy Director for the California State Council for SHRM. DOUGLAS M. LARSEN is a shareholder with Fishman, Larsen, Goldring & Zeitler, where his main area of practice is employment law. Mr. Larsen has written several articles on employee relations and has been a contributing editor for Employment Discrimination Law published by the American Bar Association. He is active in various trade associations, including the Human Resource Association of Central California, the local affiliate of the Society of Human Resource Association (SHRM), where he served as president, and the Central Valley Safety Society, where he serves on the board of directors. Mr. Larsen also chairs the annual Central Valley HR & Safety Conference. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees, cum laude, from Brigham Young University. CHRISTOPHER ONSTOTT is an attorney at the law firm of Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard, P.C., where he practices labor and employment law. His areas of emphasis include labor and employment litigation for management, including defending against race, sex and disability discrimination and harassment claims, as well as claims for misappropriation of trade secrets. Mr. Onstott also defends claims involving wrongful discharge, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. In addition to a successful practice litigating disputes in both federal and state courts, he also provides advice and counsel to employers on California compliance laws and general business matters. Mr. Onstott earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University and his J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of Texas, where he was Order of the Coif. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Sacramento County Bar Association, the LDS Business Association and board member of the Sacramento Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
