TIMOTHY E. FIELDS has been practicing law since 1977 in San Diego. Mr. Fields has specialized in title insurance and escrow matters and real estate law for more than 25 years. His practice has focused on real estate foreclosures, escrow and title litigation, commercial real estate transactions, and real estate financing. Mr. Fields also has extensive experience in bankruptcy-real estate issues and workouts. His extensive career experience has included associate title counsel and vice president of Ticor Title Insurance Company, title counsel and vice president for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company and attorney with the firm of Schall, Boudreau & Gore, A.P.C. He has been a sole practitioner since Schall, Boudreau & Gore ceased operations in November of 1997. Mr. Fields has conducted more than 100 classes or seminars for attorneys and real estate brokers and agents on real estate foreclosures, escrow procedures, title insurance coverage and underwriting, non-judicial foreclosures, the duties owed by real estate brokers and agents, obtaining relief from the automatic stay under the bankruptcy code and general real estate law. He has served as an assessment appeals hearing officer for the county of San Diego and for many years was an associate member of the California Land Title Association. Mr. Fields is a former co-chair of the San Diego County Bar Association Real Property Section. GORDON L. GERSON is a principal of Gerson Law Firm APC, concentrating in all aspects of real estate and commercial real estate finance nationwide. Mr. Gerson has an active institutional and mortgage banking practice. For more than three decades his practice has included representing clients during strong economic cycles with commercial loan originations, and during weak economic cycles with implementing loan loss mitigation strategies. His past and current engagements include some of the nation's largest financial institutions, publicly traded and privately held mortgage banking funds, and special servicers. Mr. Gerson's current practice includes special emphasis on foreclosure, receivership, post foreclosure deficiencies, post foreclosure evictions, and REO sales. He leads a team of four lawyers at the firm handling these matters on a volume basis. His team operates in a manner distinctively similar to a department of a larger law firm, except on a more cost cutting, and faster turn-around basis. Mr. Gerson frequently lectures and writes articles on issues in commercial lending and servicing. He has been recognized in recent editions of The Best Lawyers in America as well as Southern California Super Lawyers. Mr. Gerson is a fellow in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. Among his professional memberships are the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, the California Mortgage Bankers Association and REOMAC. Mr. Gerson is also a member of the board of directors of the San Diego Receivership Forum. Non professional memberships include the Board of Visitors for University of San Diego School of Law, and the San Diego Bowl Game Association Committee (presenter of college football's Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl). Mr. Gerson earned his B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his J.D. degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of California. AJAY GUPTA is the founder of Gupta Legal Center. Mr. Gupta earned his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Prior to beginning his legal education, he was an entrepreneur and a land developer. Mr. Gupta founded an information technology consulting firm in 1998 and developed successful business relationships with many large clients including Ford Motor Company, Compuware, and Delphi Automotive. In 2001, he purchased and developed 26 acres of land in Southeastern Michigan. Mr. Gupta developed and sold all 56 lots, obtaining regulatory approvals, securing financing, and overseeing development. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, foreclosure and business laws. Mr. Gupta's experience includes bankruptcy, foreclosure and real estate development, drafting LLC and shareholder agreements, assisting with capital financing, and handling membership/shareholder matters. He currently advises several companies on corporate governance. Mr. Gupta is an active member of the South Asian Bar Association (SABA), the San Diego Bar Association, and The Indus Entrepreneur (TIE). He is also the co-chair elect for 2010 for the San Diego Bankruptcy Section and serves as a board director of several companies. E. LUDLOW KEENEY JR. is a partner is the San Diego law firm of Keeney Waite & Stevens, APC, where his practice focuses on real estate transactions and litigation, title insurance and real estate brokerage. He attended the University of London, England and earned his B.A. degree from Pomona College in California and his LL.B. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. Mr. Keeney's bar memberships include California and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a frequent lecturer on his areas of practice and he has spoken for National Business Institute, the State Bar of California and CEB. Mr. Keeney is a member of the State Bar of California (member, Real Property Executive Committee; Real Property Law Section), the American (member, Real Property and Probate Law Section) and the San Diego County (member, Real Property Section) bar associations, the CEB Real Property Practice Institute, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and is a consultant with the Real Property Subcommittee of the Joint Advisory Committee of CEB.
