After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1977, he initially started with applied kinesiology, and after three years of study, obtained his certification in orthopedics, followed by two years of training that lead to rehabilitation and exercises. This allowed him the ability to handle workers' compensation cases and trained him to perform evaluations and write thorough reports that would not be rebutted by either side to document the case. In addition, Dr. DuMouchel's workers' compensation training allowed him to sit for certification as a qualified medical evaluator and as an independent medical evaluator, with emphasis on forensics. Since 2005, he has been trained in AMA Guidelines and understands impairment ratings. Dr. DuMouchel is now sought after for the upper extremities impairment rating and has the ability to use computer testing tools, as well as other specialized equipment for upper extremity testing. For the past 20 years, he has managed a full office schedule, plus the ongoing QME and IME, that has increased, not decreased, with the California workers' compensation changes since 2004. Dr. DuMouchel was able to handle manipulation under anesthesia at a local hospital with full privileges, until the hospital disbanded and moved out of the area. In addition, he has started to understand the Collosus Concept and is increasing a personal injury office with attorneys. Here, Dr. DuMouchel sends patients only for the initial and final evaluation and requests a documented report to handle the case to fruition, without having to contend with a trial. He provides the documentation for the injury, as well as the documentation for the reasoning why future medical care is necessary. Dr. DuMouchel is considered an expert witness in the federal courts to assist attorneys as needed. As an IME, he has worked with Geico, State Farm, Allstate and Farmers and is able to provide a fair report to the defense when needed. DR. JONATHAN S.
