RYAN ALVES is an attorney at the Sacramento office of Bradford & Barthel, LLP, where he practices in California workers' compensation insurance defense. He began his career as a case manager in Liberty Mutual's National Market Claims division, where he quickly became a senior case manager assigned to accounts with national and international exposure. Mr. Alves earned his B.A. degrees, with honors, and his J.D. degree, with distinction, from the University of California Davis. JAMES E. BRUSCINO is an attorney with the Law Office of James E. Bruscino. Mr. Bruscino has practiced on the defense end of workers' compensation cases for more than 16 years. He works on behalf of insured and self-insured clients and handles a wide variety of workers' compensation cases, including subrogation, serious and willful misconduct, and medical fraud. Mr. Bruscino has worked extensively with the Sacramento, Stockton and Fresno workers' compensation appeals boards. He has worked closely with the judges on these boards and is knowledgeable of the litigation processes of these particular entities. Mr. Bruscino is certified as a workers' compensation specialist by the State Bar of California. He is an experienced lecturer and has given lectures for clients and professional organizations on a variety of workers' compensation topics and legal updates. He is a member of the California Workers' Compensation Defense Attorneys Association and the State Bar of California. CASEY W. NORRIS is an attorney with Haworth Bradshaw Stallknecht & Barber. He joined the firm in 1990, and is a member of the State Bar of California and the Traynor Award Honor Society. Before attending law school, Mr. Norris worked for the California State legislature and for the U.S. Department of Defense. He is admitted to practice before all courts under the jurisdiction of California, as well as the U.S. Federal Court for the Eastern and Northern districts of California. Mr. Norris is a certified specialist in workers' compensation law and a principal of the firm, in the Sacramento office. He currently serves as CEO of the firm. Mr. Norris earned his B.A. degree, with honors, and his master's degree both from the University of California at Davis; and his J.D. degree, with distinction, from McGeorge School of Law. DEBORAH A. WHITCOMB is an attorney with Mullen & Filippi, LLP in Sacramento, California. She is a certified specialist in workers' compensation by the State Bar of California. Ms. Whitcomb is a member of the State Bar of California. She earned her B.S.N. degree from the University of San Francisco and her J.D. degree from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
