TIMOTHY C. BEHRENS is a registered professional engineer with more than 29 years of experience in the engineering field. Mr. Behrens is also certified as an Accident Reconstructionist (by ACTAR), a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI-IAAI), a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI-NAFI) and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI-NAFI). Mr. Behrens graduated with honors from the University of Arizona in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, Mr. Behrens worked at Garrett Turbine Engine Company for four years. He then spent 12 years working for Failure Analysis Associates (now Exponent) Test and Engineering Center in Phoenix, Arizona. During this time he developed expertise in accident investigation & reconstruction, vehicle fire investigations and product failure investigations, analyses and research. He then spent seven years with Engineering and Fire Investigations (now EFI Global). He specialized in motor vehicle and heavy equipment fires, accident investigation & reconstruction, failure analysis of motor vehicle components, including brakes, steering, throttle, restraints, tires and other mechanical issues and systems. In 2006, Mr. Behrens started his own engineering consulting firm, Behrens Engineering Investigations LLC, to continue and expand his practice in the forensic engineering field. MICHELLE R. HOFFMAN is a biomechanical engineer with Biodynamics Engineering, Inc., where she is responsible for the biomechanical analysis of injury-causing accidents. This includes evaluation of accident reports, witness statements and medical records, as well as vehicle inspections, accident reconstructions, engineering calculations, and testing. Ms. Hoffman has investigated more than 900 alleged injury events, which resulted in approximately 400 written reports. She provides expert witness testimony with respect to biomechanical analysis of injury-causing accidents in litigation. Ms. Hoffman is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society, Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators, Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine, and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, biomedical engineering, from Arizona State University. DR. MICHAEL ILIESCU is owner and forensic consultant with Autopsy & Forensic Services, Inc. He is an advisory board member of the forensics section at the University of Washington Extension forensics program. Dr. Iliescu also is an adjunct faculty member at Scottsdale Community College-Administration of Justice Department and chairperson of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at American Medical College of Homeopathy. He is a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Mexican College of Forensic Sciences and Southwestern Association of Traffic Accident Investigators. Dr. Iliescu is licensed to practice in Arizona and Washington states. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical Institute of Timisoara, Romania, AC/PC residency at Winthrop University Hospital in New York, and his Fellowship in Forensic Pathology from the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office. MARK A. RACZKOWSKI earned his J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers School of Law and his LL.M. degree in trial advocacy from California Western School of Law, during which he was invited to participate in an internship at the Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. He is licensed to practice in both Arizona and California. In 2004, he returned to Tucson where he joined The Rabb Penny Law Firm, PLLC as an associate attorney. During the four and one-half years he spent practicing law in Tucson, Mr. Raczkowski worked to protect the rights of numerous clients who had been injured by the negligence of others while also handling various family law, probate, and criminal matters. Wanting to limit his practice to personal injury law, he joined Bohm & Jones, P.C. in 2009, where he litigates only personal injury cases, including those involving injuries occurring on premises, motor vehicle collisions, dog bites, and insurance company bad faith claims. He is a member of both the American Association for Justice and the Arizona Association for Justice, the two premier legal groups for lawyers working to protect the rights of individuals who have been injured by others. JOHANNA VANNINI is currently the Arizona casualty claims manager with Schneider & Associates Claim Services Inc., an independent adjustment and claims administration firm serving Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. Her intimate knowledge of automobile claims was built through twenty years at carriers such as CNA, Berkley Risk Administrators, AIG and Phoenix Indemnity. She specializes in large exposure, litigated and bad faith claims. Ms. Vannini has extensive experience investigating, evaluating and adjusting all manner of private passenger, commercial vehicle and truck claims.
