CASSANDRA V. MEYER is a senior member in the Phoenix office of The Cavanagh Law Firm. She graduated, cum laude, from the University of Arizona, and, magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law. Ms. Meyer was an executive board member and Notes and Comments Editor of the California Western Law Review/International Law Journal. She is a member of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association, The Defense Research Institute and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Ms. Meyer has written several continuing legal education seminar materials on insurance coverage and litigation-related topics. Her practice focuses on insurance defense and commercial litigation, including insurance coverage, attorney professional malpractice defense and personal injury defense. STEPHEN C. RYAN is a sole practitioner in Phoenix, Arizona. His areas of practice include insurance bad faith, wrongful death, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, brain injury, quadriplegia, burn injuries, abuse of process and malicious prosecution. Mr. Ryan has lectured before the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and has written "Salvaging the Total Loss Claim" for the Trial Magazine. He earned his B.A. degree, majoring in political science, from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and his J.D. degree from the Arizona State University. Mr. Ryan is a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association, the Arizona Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. GENA L. SLUGA is a partner in the insurance bad faith, insurance coverage and professional liability practice groups at Harper, Christian, Dichter & Sluga, P.C. She is admitted and actively practices in both Arizona and Nevada. Ms. Sluga earned her B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University and her J.D. degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley. She has spoken at several seminars regarding insurance coverage and bad faith and has co-authored published articles on the subject. JOHN N. WILBORN is an attorney with Surrano Law Offices PC. Mr. Wilborn primarily litigates bad faith cases and has expanded the area of practice to include mass tort and class action litigation. He has tried many cases to jury verdict as both a plaintiff's and defense attorney, in both state and federal courts and acted as a second chair in several other jury trials. Mr. Wilborn also has argued before the Arizona Court of Appeals and is credited with two published opinions, Lloyd v. AMF Bowling Center, Inc. and Benevides v. The Arizona State Property and Casualty Guarantee Fund. The Lloyd v. AMF case became widely publicized and Mr. Wilborn was interviewed on Court TV. He was a guest speaker at the ATLA National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia and was a featured guest speaker at the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He is a frequent speaker on topics involving bad faith litigation and was a guest speaker at the 2010 National Summer AHA Convention. Mr. Wilborn earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Dakota Law School where he was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Association of Justice and the State Bar of Arizona.
