LISA PERRY BANEN is an attorney with the law firm of Lane & Nach, P.C. where her practice emphasizes bankruptcy trustee representation and creditors' rights. She has worked in private practice in Phoenix, concentrating in the areas of real estate foreclosures, creditors' rights in bankruptcy and commercial litigation. From 1997 to 2004, Ms. Banen worked as assistant attorney general in the Tax, Bankruptcy and Collection Enforcement Section, where she represented state agencies including the Arizona Department of Revenue, Department of Transportation and Department of Environmental Quality in bankruptcy-related matters. She earned her J.D. from Cornell law School and is a graduate of Moorhead State University, Minnesota. MARGARET A. GILLESPIE is a shareholder in the Phoenix law firm of Collins, May, Potenza, Baran & Gillespie, P.C., where she practices primarily in the areas of construction law, commercial litigation and bankruptcy law. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame, M.B.A. degree from Arizona State University and her J.D. degree from Arizona State University's Law School, cum laude. Ms. Gillespie served as chair of the Maricopa County Bar Association's Committee on Children from 1993-1999, and served as an advisory board member for the Children's Law Center with Community Legal Services. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Arizona Women Lawyers Association, and the Arizona and Maricopa County Bar Associations. Ms. Gillespie served on the Phoenix Diocesan School Board from 1998-2004 as president from 2000-2002. She also is a member of the National Advisory Committee for Parent Advocacy for the Department of Education of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Ms. Gillespie has been on the board of directors of the Notre Dame Club of Phoenix since 1990, currently president, and acts as the Alumni School Coordinator for the University of Notre Dame, since 1992. She participated on the Rules Committee in an effort to update the Local Rules for Bankruptcy Court in the District of Arizona. Ms. Gillespie wrote the chapter on "Prejudgment Seizure of Property" in the 2nd edition of Arizona Civil Remedies and has lectured on that topic as well as on bankruptcy law, construction law and Article 9 Uniform Commercial Code. VINCENT R. MAYR is a sole practitioner in Phoenix where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy, debtor's and creditor's rights, divorce and custody, criminal defense and foreclosures. Mr. Mayr has been practicing law for 20 years, during which he has had a great amount of experience in bankruptcy, including chapters 7, 11, and 13, with heavy debtor representation in the consumer bankruptcy arena. He also represents creditors in adversary proceedings and in motions to lift the automatic stay. Mr. Mayr earned his B.S. degree from the University of Maryland and his M.P.A. and J.D. degrees from Golden Gate University. He is admitted to practice in the states of Arizona and Colorado and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the State Bar of Nevada, and the District of Columbia Bar. ADAM B. NACH is a shareholder with the Phoenix law firm of Lane & Nach, P.C., where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy law and creditors' rights. He is certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization as an attorney specializing in bankruptcy law. He served as the judicial law clerk to the former chief bankruptcy judge for the District of Arizona, Robert G. Mooreman. Mr. Nach is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy and has written extensively on bankruptcy matters, including for the Norton Bankruptcy Law Adviser and Bankruptcy Strategist. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Arizona and his J.D. degree from California Western School of Law. Mr. Nach is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. JOEL F. NEWELL is an attorney with Lane & Nach, P.C. Mr. Newell was admitted in the State of Arizona and the District Court for the District of Arizona since 2007. He earned his J.D. degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he was an associate editor on the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Mr. Newell earned his undergraduate degree from Anderson University. His experience includes representing individuals and businesses in filing bankruptcy under Chapter 7, 11, and 13 Bankruptcy. Presently, Mr. Newell concentrates his practice on Bankruptcy Trustee's Rights and Creditor's rights.
