SAMUEL COPPERSMITH is the managing partner in the law firm of Coppersmith Schermer & Brockelman PLC, in Phoenix, Arizona, and practices business and real estate law. He represented Arizona's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 through 1995, and he also served as chair of the City of Phoenix Board of Adjustment. Mr. Coppersmith earned his A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard College and his J.D. degree from Yale Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the State Bar of California, and the American and Maricopa County bar associations. PAUL E. GILBERT is a founding manager in the law firm of Beus Gilbert PLLC, where his practice experience includes all aspects of zoning and land use planning law at the legislative, administrative and litigation levels. He has lectured for the State Bar of Arizona and for several planning associations and municipal and county government seminars. Mr. Gilbert earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University and his J.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was on the law review board. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Arizona. MARTIN T. JONES is a partner with Gust Rosenfeld P.L.C., where he focuses his practice on environmental, real estate and land use law. For more than 30 years, he has provided legal advice regarding real estate and land use issues such as superfund, water, soil, underground storage tanks, endangered species act and entitlements. Mr. Jones possesses extensive experience in complex commercial transactions involving residential, commercial and industrial real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Before joining Gust Rosenfeld, he served as assistant attorney general for the State of Arizona, Environmental Enforcement Section, where he was responsible for the management and coordination of potential responsible party investigations at all state superfund sites within Arizona. Mr. Jones is frequently invited to speak about key environmental law issues. In October, he hosted a roundtable on "Environmental Due Diligence in Real Estate Transactions" at the 2009 International Conference on Shopping Centers. Recently, he served as the featured speaker at several National Business Institute seminars including "Top 45 Land Use Cases and Their Significance Today" (November 2008) and "Phoenix Land Use Law: Current Issues in Subdivision, Annexation and Zoning: Environmental Due Diligence" (May 2008). Mr. Jones earned his B.A. degree from the University of Evansville and his J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and Washington State Bar Association. ANDREW E. MOORE is the director of the Andrew E. Moore Law Firm. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his J.D. degree from Arizona State University. Mr. Moore has practiced law in Arizona for sixteen years and over the last eleven years has concentrated his practice on zoning and land use entitlement and has extensive experience in working with municipal and county governments, obtaining land use entitlements, annexations, variances and use permits and drafting development agreements and economic incentive agreements. He is a frequent speaker at legal seminars for land use and zoning topics. NICHOLAS J. WOOD is a partner in the Phoenix office of the law firm of Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., and is the chairman of the zoning and land use practice group. He concentrates his practice in zoning and land use law matters. Mr. Wood is a former adjunct professor of law (property) at Marquette University Law School. He has written numerous publications on zoning and land use issues. Mr. Wood earned his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin, his J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School and his LL.M. degree in taxation from DePaul University Law School.
