STEVEN J. GROSS is an attorney with Kunz Plitt Hyland Demlong & Kleifield, where his practice area focuses on insurance coverage litigation in the personal lines, commercial lines and umbrella/excess lines context. His practice focuses on coverage issues that deal with allegations of professional liability, False Claims Act violations, medical payment coverage, and insurance fraud. Mr. Gross' practice also includes the defense of insurance companies against claims of bad faith claim handling and punitive damages. He is currently a CPCU candidate with the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. Mr. Gross co-authored chapter eight of The Claim Adjuster's Automobile Liability Handbook. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude and with honors, from Arizona State University, Barrett Honors College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Arizona State University, College of Law. CASSANDRA V. MEYER is a senior member in the Phoenix office of The Cavanagh Law Firm. She graduated, cum laude, from the University of Arizona, and, magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law. Ms. Meyer was an executive board member and Notes and Comments Editor of the California Western Law Review/International Law Journal. She is a member of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association, The Defense Research Institute and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Ms. Meyer has written several continuing legal education seminar materials on insurance coverage and litigation-related topics. Her practice focuses on insurance defense and commercial litigation, including insurance coverage, attorney professional malpractice defense and personal injury defense. STEVEN PLITT is the chairperson of the insurance practice group at Kunz Plitt Hyland Demlong & Kleifield. Mr. Plitt has published the books Arizona Liability Insurance Law (and its 2006 Supplement), along with The Claim Adjuster's Automobile Liability Handbook. He is currently authoring and re-writing Couch on Insurance 3D. Mr. Plitt also is currently writing The Practical Guide To Insurance Coverage Interpretation And Litigation for Thomson-West Publishing (street date 12/10). He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America for the field of insurance law continuously since insurance law was added as a category. Mr. Plitt is listed as one of the top 50 lawyers in the state of Arizona (including all fields) by Southwest SuperLawyers for the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. He is a former adjunct professor of law teaching at Arizona State University's College of Law in various insurance law courses. Mr. Plitt also is a seasoned trial lawyer having tried in excess of 30 jury trials in both state and federal courts. He has analyzed coverage issues in more than 40 states and provided expert consulting for both insurance companies and policyholders and analysis in coverage, claim handling, and bad faith cases in 22 states. JOSHUA D. ROGERS is a partner with the Phoenix coverage boutique firm of Kunz Plitt Hyland Demlong & Kleifield. In his practice, Mr. Rogers has been involved in analyzing and litigating numerous complex insurance coverage matters in representation of insurance companies in numerous states. A major portion of his practice involves representing insurance companies in defense of insurance bad faith claims. Mr. Rogers also has analyzed complex advertising injury and personal injury general liability coverage claims. He is one of two associate authors for Couch on Insurance 3D, a nationally recognized authoritative treatise on insurance law.
