ALISSA A. BAHN is owner of Medical Review Nurse Consultants, Inc. (MRNC), which was founded in 1986. She earned her B.S.N. degree, with honors, and her M.S.N. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Colorado. Ms. Bahn worked at the University of Colorado Hospital for almost 10 years prior to relocating to Arizona. She has worked in a variety of clinical areas, including general medical, cardiology/telemetry, intermediate care (medical, telemetry and trauma), emergency room, general surgery and orthopedics. Ms. Bahn also has extensive administrative experience as a hospital charge nurse, interim nurse educator, interim nurse manager and project coordinator. She is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and has been a legal nurse consultant since 2002. Ms. Bahn's firm, MRNC, employs multiple nurses, all with a wealth of experience in the evaluation of all types of bodily injury claims, as well as media intensive cases, large document cases, criminal cases, class action lawsuits, products liability, and employment and disability discrimination claims. GREGG FRIEDMAN DC is a licensed doctor of chiropractic in Arizona since 1987, certified independent chiropractic examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) from 2004 - 2009, a certified chiropractic sports physician since 1988 and a fellow with the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture since 1995. He is the owner of Arcadia Spinal Health Center, Got Documentation Seminars and Integri-Docs Personal Injury Network, all of Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Friedman's past and present memberships include: the Arizona Association of Chiropractic, ACA Council on Sports Injuries, F.I.C.S. MIRIAM GRIGGS, M.D. is the owner of her practice in Scottsdale, Arizona called AZ Physical Medicine, LLC. She has more than 20 years rehabilitation experience, first as a physical therapist, and then as a medical doctor specializing in rehabilitation, which gives her a unique perspective on physical evaluation and management. For more than 14 years, Dr. Griggs has been developing expertise in the use of medical acupuncture to augment the management of pain in her practice, with emphasis on muscular pain syndromes. She develops workable strategies for each individual patient, ranging from elite athletes to those wishing to simply add life to their years with customized exercise programs. Dr. Griggs works to determine the sources of pain, and works with referring providers to solve these issues and move forward with a proactive rehabilitation strategy that will optimize emotional, physical and functional well being. She earned her B.S. degree from Old Dominion University and medical acupuncture training at UCLA. Dr. Griggs attended Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she was chief resident from 1999-2000. DR. MICHAEL ILIESCU is owner and forensic consultant with Autopsy & Forensic Services, Inc. He is an advisory board member of the forensics section at the University of Washington Extension forensics program. Dr. Iliescu also is an adjunct faculty member at Scottsdale Community College-Administration of Justice Department and chairperson of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at American Medical College of Homeopathy. He is a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, Mexican College of Forensic Sciences and Southwestern Association of Traffic Accident Investigators. Dr. Iliescu is licensed to practice in Arizona and Washington. He earned his M.D. degree at the Medical Institute of Timisoara in Romania, AC/PC residency at Winthrop University Hospital in New York and his fellowship in forensic pathology from the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office. LEAH PALLIN-HILL left the Maricopa County bench in May 2002, where she was a commissioner and judge pro tem, to open her office for mediation and arbitration of civil disputes. Immediately prior to her appointment to the bench in 1997, she was a general civil litigator at the law firm of Gallagher and Kennedy. Ms. Pallin-Hill graduated, cum laude, from both Brooklyn College and the Arizona State University College of Law. She was a law clerk for former Vice Chief Judge Eino Jacobson at the Arizona Court of Appeals and former Chief Justice Stanley Feldman at the Arizona Supreme Court. Ms. Pallin-Hill has had more than 150 hours of mediation training, including Mediating the Litigated Case and Mediating Construction Disputes at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine College of Law. She has served on the state bar ADR and family law executive councils, and speaks often at both Maricopa County and state bar seminars. Ms. Pallin-Hill has mediated a wide variety of civil cases since 2002 and is proud to have a better than 97% settlement rate in the more than 1300 cases she has handled. ARTHUR H. SCHURGIN D.O. is a certified independent medical examiner (ABIME) in comprehensive pain management (2004 - present); an adjunct assistant professor with the Department of Clinical Education, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (2002 - present); provides expert witness services in pain medicine (1997 - present); has a clinical practice in pain medicine; and is a medical director (1993 - present). He is a certified independent medical examiner by the American Board of Independent Examiners, and is board certified in pain management and anesthesiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Schurgin is affiliated with the John C. Lincoln Hospital - Deer Valley in Phoenix, Arizona (1988 - present); the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (2004 - present); the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists (1996 - present); the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (1988 - present); and the American Osteopathic Association (1981 - present). He earned his B.S. degree, with distinction, from the University of Michigan and his D.O. degree from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was given the award for academic excellence. JOHN SOSCIA M.D. is an orthopedic specialist. He completed a rotating internship at Saint Vincent's Hospital, New York, NY; his general surgery residency at Saint Vincent's Hospital in New York; his orthopedic residency at New York University; and a fellowship in constructive surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Soscia has had a solo practice since 2003; was part of a group practice at North Phoenix Orthopedics in Phoenix, Arizona (1977 - 2003); and served as a Major in the U.S. Air Force as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery, Luke AFB at Litchfield, Arizona (1973 - 1976). He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Arizona Medical Association. Dr. Soscia earned his B.S. degree from Loyola University and his M.D. degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine. JOHN N. VINGELLI is an attorney with James F. Brook and Associates, where he has devoted his practice to helping aggrieved parties, both as a personal injury attorney and a criminal prosecutor. He successfully argued to the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court in Gibson v. Kasey , addressing the negligent duty of care in Arizona. Both opinions were published. Mr. Vingelli has substantial and successful jury trial experience, having tried over 35 cases to verdict. He has dedicated his civil practice to all aspects of personal injury cases including: medical negligence, wrongful death, nursing home litigation, trucking accidents, catastrophic injuries and appeals. Mr. Vingelli has experience defending civil cases in the arenas of medical malpractice and nursing home negligence. He has served as an assistant bureau chief at the Maricopa County office, and was recognized on multiple occasions for outstanding dedication to duty. Mr. Vingelli also has presented at several local speaker's organizations and chambers of commerce, educating the public on legal issues and misconceptions. He has been featured as a guest speaker on radio shows to discuss drug overdose-related deaths and potential liability exposure therefrom in Arizona.
