HON. CHARLES E. CLAWSON JR. is a Circuit Court Judge in the 20th Judicial Circuit presiding in Division 3 in Faulkner, Searcy and Van Buren counties. He was appointed to the bench in 1995. Prior to his appointment, Judge Clawson served as chief deputy prosecuting attorney for the 20th Judicial District. He also served as a clinical supervisor at UALR Law School and was in private practice with Brazil, Clawson and Adlong. Judge Clawson earned his B.A. degree at Hendrix College and his J.D. degree at the University of Arkansas School of Law. HON. MICHAEL A. MAGGIO has served as a Circuit Court Judge in the 20th Judicial Circuit since 2001. Prior to the bench, Judge Maggio was a partner in the Maggio Law Firm, where he concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial law and collection law. Judge Maggio is a former commissioner for child abuse and neglect, rape, and domestic violence. He earned his B.A degree at Millsaps College and his J.D. degree at the University of Arkansas School of Law. Judge Maggio also has attended the National Judicial College. HON. DAVID McCORMICK is a Circuit Court Judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit where he presides over Division 2. Judge McCormick is primarily responsible for hearing most civil cases in the district, which includes Yell, Logan, Scott and Conway counties. He began his private law practice in 1979, practicing in the areas of personal injury, criminal law, Social Security, domestic relations and workers' compensation. Judge McCormick earned his B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees at the University of Central Arkansas and his J.D. degree at the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock. HON. MARY McGOWAN is a Circuit Court Judge in the Pulaski County Circuit Court, 6th Judicial Circuit, Division 9, serving Pulaski and Perry counties. Judge McGowan was elected circuit judge in the 6th Judicial Circuit in 1990. Judge McGowan is an adjunct professor at Webster University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has been appointed to serve on the Arkansas Supreme Court's Child Support Committee and was appointed to the Governor's Task Force on the Mental Health System. Judge McGowan was appointed to serve on the Arkansas Supreme Court and the Arkansas Bar Association's Joint Task Force on Jury Improvement. Judge McGowan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Law. HON. GRISHAM A. PHILLIPS is a Saline County Circuit Court Judge in the 22nd Judicial Circuit where he presides over Division 3. Judge Phillips began his private law practice in 1982, practicing in the areas of personal injury, bankruptcy and criminal law. He earned his B.S. degree at Arkansas State University and his J.D. degree at the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock. HON. CHARLES YEARGAN serves as a Circuit Court Judge in the 9th Judicial Circuit West, Division 2, covering Howard, Little River, Sevier and Pike counties. Judge Yeargan began his private practice in 1976. He earned his B.S. degree at the University of Arkansas and his J.D. degree at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. HON. PHILLIP WHITEAKER serves as Circuit Court Judge in the 23rd Judicial Circuit, presiding over Division 2 in Lonoke County since 1997. Judge Whiteaker serves as administrative judge for the circuit. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Judicial Council. Judge Whiteaker earned his J.D. degree at the University of Arkansas Bowen School of Law. MODERATOR - DENISE REID HOGGARD is a partner with Chisenhall, Nestrud & Julian, P.A., where her practice focuses in the areas of employment litigation, personnel policies and training, and general civil and commercial litigation. Her practice includes issues under Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act, FLSA, ADEA, FMLA and ERISA. Ms. Hoggard is an adjunct professor with the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock. She is a certified law enforcement instructor with the Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute, teaching in the areas of wage and hour law and employment law. Ms. Hoggard also is an adjunct instructor with Webster University where she teaches the legal aspects of human resources. She received her B.S. degree from Arkansas State University and her J.D. degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock. Ms. Hoggard is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Arkansas affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Arkansas Women Executives.
