HON. WAYMOND M. BROWN is a judge with Arkansas Court of Appeals and is an active member of the NAACP. Judge Brown received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and continued his education by earning his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock ? School of Law. He has served as chief legal counsel for the Arkansas Employment Security Department, chief deputy prosecuting attorney, deputy prosecuting attorney for Jefferson and Lincoln Counties, and tax accountant for Phillips Petroleum Company. He was appointed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice to serve on the Arkansas Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and the Supreme Court Committee for Continuing Legal Education. Judge Brown is formally district judge of Pine Bluff, Arkansas from January 1, 2001 to December 2008. CHIP CHILES IV is a managing member of the Little Rock firm of Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Burrow PLLC, where he focuses his practice on business-related litigation. Mr. Chiles also has successfully tried jury cases involving allegations of sexual harassment and medical malpractice. In addition to his practice in trial courts, Mr. Chiles has an active practice handling civil appeals. He has served as appellate counsel in more than 50 matters. He has handled appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 6th and 8th circuits, the Supreme Court of Arkansas, the Arkansas Court of Appeals, the Mississippi Court of Appeals and the Georgia Court of Appeals. Mr. Chiles also has been responsible for petitions for the U.S. Supreme Court for writs of certiorari and briefs in opposition to such petitions. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee as well as in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 6th and 8th circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western districts of Arkansas, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Chiles earned his B.A. degree from Hendrix College and his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the American Law Institute, a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and former chair of the Federal Practice Committee of the Eastern District of Arkansas. Mr. Chiles also is a charter member of the Bar Association of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, a member of the Defense Research Institute, a barrister with the Henry Woods Inn of Court, a sustaining member of the Arkansas Bar Association, a member of the American and Pulaski County bar associations and a fellow of the Arkansas Bar Foundation. R. CHRISTOPHER LAWSON is a partner at the law firm of Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP, where he is a member of the firm's class action practice group. His practice focuses primarily on business litigation and appellate procedure in the defense of, among other things, class actions, toxic tort litigation, commercial disputes and illegal exactions. In addition to his litigation practice in federal and state courts, Mr. Lawson represents clients before various regulatory bodies, including the Arkansas Public Service Commission and the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission. His bar admissions include Arkansas, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. Mr. Lawson wrote "Seeing the Appellate Horizon: Civil Trial Strategy and Standards of Review in the Eighth Circuit," The Journal of Appellate Practice and Process, Vol. 4, No. 2, 2002. He is a member of the Pulaski County, Arkansas, American and Washington County bar associations. Mr. Lawson earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Ouachita Baptist University and his J. D. degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. CHAD W. PEKRON is a member of the Little Rock firm of Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Burrow PLLC, where his practice is primarily devoted to complex business and tort litigation. He has significant experience in representing accounting firms, publicly-traded companies, and corporate officers and directors in securities litigation, regulatory matters, professional malpractice actions and internal investigations. Mr. Pekron also has an active appellate practice and has appeared in numerous state and federal appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Illinois, the New York Court of Appeals and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th circuits. He also has been responsible for petitions for certiorari and amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court. After graduating from law school, Mr. Pekron clerked for Judge Morris Sheppard Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. During his clerkship, he served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law. Mr. Pekron is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th circuits, and the states of Illinois and Arkansas. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Nebraska and his J.D. degree from Yale Law School. J.G. "GERRY" SCHULZE is a partner with the Little Rock law firm of Baker Schulze & Murphy PLLC, where he practices in the areas of appellate law, plaintiffs' personal injury litigation and civil and commercial litigation. Mr. Schulze is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He also is a member of SCRIBES, which is an organization for legal writers. Mr. Schulze was the institute chair for the Arkansas Bar Association Appellate Advocacy Institute in 1996 and 1997. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Loyola University and his J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
