MARTHA G. HUNT is chief legal counsel with the Arkansas State Revenue Department Legal Counsel, Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. She has spoken on sales and use tax for various professional organizations. Ms. Hunt earned her B.S. degree from Mississippi State University and her J.D. degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a member of the Pulaski County (member, Tax Section) and the Arkansas (member, Tax Section) bar associations. MICHAEL O. PARKER is a member of the Little Rock law firm of Dover Dixon Horne PLLC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of state and local tax litigation, business law and regulatory issues. He is a past chairman of the Section on Taxation of the Arkansas Bar Association and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in tax law. Mr. Parker writes the Arkansas chapter of the American Bar Association's Sales and Use Tax Deskbook, is an annual contributor to the State and Local Tax Lawyer and is a frequent author of articles on Arkansas tax issues. He earned his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Fayetteville. Mr. Parker is a member of the American (Taxation Section), the Arkansas and the Pulaski County bar associations. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in tax law and trusts and estates. He has also served as a private sector representative for Arkansas in the Streamlined Sales Tax Project and is a former member of the Arkansas Multistate Tax Compact Advisory Council. JAMES M. SAXTON is a partner in the Little Rock law firm of Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP, where his practice has heavy emphases on state tax, real estate and tax-related fields. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Alabama, his J.D. degree from the University of Arkansas, where he was associate editor of the Law Review, and his LL.M. degree in taxation from Georgetown University. Mr. Saxton is a member of the Pulaski County, Arkansas (member, Tax Section and Real Estate Section) and the American (member, Real Estate and Probate sections) bar associations. He is a frequent lecturer on sales and use tax topics for various professional groups.
