ALIX CAFFEY is the principle owner of Caffey & Associates, LLC in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. She has 13+ years in nursing and 3+ years as a legal nurse consultant. Her expertise is in documentation, medical records review and decoding test results compared to treatment given is a role in her daily operations. Ms. Caffey assists attorneys across the nation in record reviews, writing interrogatory/deposition questions for plaintiffs and defendants, as well as serving as an expert witness in certain cases. She is an experienced speaker and has presented at national pharmaceutical meetings and local events to teams of pharmaceutical clinical educators to help them better understand terminology, pathophysiology, and specific diseases states. Her many presentations included providing CME for physicians and CEU credits for nurses. As a legal nurse she has provided pro bono services in correctional facilities healthcare and mental health power of attorney. Ms. Caffey's educational background includes a Bachelor's of Art degree in Journalism: Advertising/Public Relations, as well as her Registered Nursing degree. Her nursing experience includes emergency medicine, cardiology, diabetes, renal, and respiratory plus various other disease states. She has case experience in several areas of law including but not limited to medical malpractice, neglect, product liability and personal injury. CLIFFORD L. DEBRUCE is a partner with DeBruce & DeBruce Medical Legal Consulting, LLC. Development, presentation, and evaluation of a variety of professional training modules to diverse clinical groups has been a component of current and previous responsibilities of Mr. DeBruce. He was the Assistant Director for the Emergency Room at Washington Regional Medical Center. He had clinical and managerial oversight for the 7p-7a Emergency Room. He was responsible for triage, patient flow, staffing, overtime management, orientation for new staff, as well as patient care in the Emergency Department. He attended Delta Vocational Technical College, where he received his Paramedic Curriculum Diploma. Mr. DeBruce is on the National Registry for being an E.M.T. - Paramedic. In 1998, he graduated from the Northwest Community College R.N. program. Mr. DeBruce is a Board-Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. LUCINDA L. DEBRUCE RN, MS, is a partner with DeBruce & DeBruce Legal Nurse Consulting, LLC, where she focuses her practice on both medical and psychiatric cases. She has worked with legal firms in a multitude of states. Ms. DeBruce has overseen a hospital emergency room for several years, as well as a variety of hospital management positions. She received her nursing degree from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of the Ozarks, and her Master of Science degree in health sciences from the University of Arkansas. Ms. DeBruce is a member of the Arkansas Hospital Association and the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. VICTORIA POWELL , RN, CCM, LLNCC, CNLCP, CLCP, MSCC, CEAS II, is a registered nurse with more than fifteen years of professional nursing experience with a background in neurology and orthopedics, as well as medical-surgical care. She founded VP Medical Consulting, a nurse consulting firm providing medical case management, life care planning, medicare set-asides, and legal nurse consulting, with a special interest in amputation. She is an active member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, the National Nurses in Business, the Case Management Society of America, International Academy of Rehab Professionals, and The American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners (Marketing Chair, Editorial Board; Conference Committee). Ms. Powell is also an avid writer and her works include a chapter for the Nurse Entrepreneurs: Tales of Nurses in Business in association with the NNBA; multiple articles associated with technology and amputation for the Journal of Nurse Life Care Planning; Edited Nursing Malpractice, set to publish 2011; and currently working on the core curriculum for the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners. She earned her nursing diploma from Baptist School of Nursing in Benton, Arkansas. MARC E. STEWART is founder of the Law Offices of Marc E. Stewart, where he specializes in the complete spectrum of medical malpractice cases. Mr. Stewart is licensed in both Arkansas and Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Arkansas, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Stewart received his B.S. degree from Texas A&M University and his J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston.
