AMANDA L. CUTSHALL is an attorney in the Birmingham office of Carr Allison, where her practice is devoted to labor and employment, litigation, and workers' compensation. Ms. Cutshall is admitted to the U.S. District Court and the Northern, Southern and Middle districts of Alabama. She was a junior editor of The Law and Psychology Review. Ms. Cutshall is an annual speaker on legal panels at Birmingham Southern College, speaks on workers' compensation law at ASIA Conferences and speaks for National Business Institute seminars. Ms. Cutshall earned her B.A. degree from Birmingham-Southern College and her J.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. ANTHONY N. FOX is an attorney at the law firm of Scott, Sullivan, Streetman & Fox, P.C., where he practices in the areas of workers' compensation, labor and employment, insurance defense, and insurance coverage. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar (Workers' Compensation Section), the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Bar Association for the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Fox earned his B.A. degree from Maryville College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. DR. EDWIN L. KELSEY is a medical director with Birmingham Pain Management & Rehabilitation Centers, P.C. and Health-Link Physical Therapy. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management (diplomat) and the Alabama State Board of Quality Assurance (PRO). Dr. Kelsey is board certified in PM&R, and is licensed in the state of Alabama and Maryland. He has previously researched dysnomia following a head injury with a review in Neurorehabilitation News. Dr. Kelsey earned his B.S. degree from SUNY at New Paltz, graduated from Howard University College of Medicine and completed his residency with the Dept of PM&R at the National Rehabilitation Hospital. LAWRENCE T. KING is an attorney with King, Lyons & Simmons LLC. He practices frequently under the Alabama Workers' Compensation Act and around it whenever he can. Mr. King has published several articles on escaping the grip of the exclusivity provision and on retaliatory discharge, and tried many cases to verdict on those theories. He earned his B.A. degree from F.S.U. and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law. P. ANDREW LAIRD is a partner with Starnes Davis Florie LLP, where his main area of practice is workers' compensation. He is licensed to practice in Alabama and Mississippi. Mr. Laird has previously lectured and wrote on workers' compensation topics. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and The Mississippi Bar. Mr. Laird earned his B.A. degree from Birmingham - Southern College and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver School of Law. MICHELLE PIERONI is an attorney with Huie, Fernambucq & Stewart LLP. Ms. Pieroni serves as the chair of the firm's Medicare Compliance Committee. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, Birmingham Bar Association (member, Workers' Compensation Section; former member, Young Lawyers' Executive Committee), Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and Defense Research Institute. Ms. Pieroni is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Southern, Middle and Northern districts of Alabama), as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. She was listed on the Alabama Bar Association's "Honor Roll" of pro bono lawyers in 2009. Her litigation practice focuses on the defense of professional liability actions, workers' compensation, employment law, and general insurance defense. Ms. Pieroni has successfully tried more than 25 cases to a conclusion in both state and federal court. She also has obtained summary judgments, affirmances on appeal, and favorable settlements on behalf of her clients on a consistent basis. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Pieroni is certified as a Medicare Set Aside Certified Consultant and counsels her clients and other attorneys on the need to protect Medicare's interests in settling workers' compensation and liability cases. She is a member of the National Alliance of Medicare Set Aside Professionals and serves on its Law and Legislation Committee. Ms. Pieroni is a frequent speaker on Medicare compliance issues and has presented seminars to many groups, including the Birmingham Bar Workers' Compensation Section.
