HON. JOSEPH L. BOOHAKER is a Circuit Court Judge with the 10th Judicial Circuit Court. He served his first term as a Circuit Court Judge in the Civil Division in Jefferson County from 2001-2006 and was reelected in 2007. Judge Boohaker was certified in general jurisdiction by the National Judicial College in 2004. Judge Boohaker also has successfully completed the Sir Richard May Seminar on International Law and International Courts held in the Hague, Netherlands, in September 2007. Prior to assuming the bench, Judge Boohaker practiced civil litigation for 21 years. He earned his B.S. degree, summa cum laude, at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and his J.D. degree at the University of Alabama School of Law. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk to the judges of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama. Judge Boohaker is a member of the Alabama Circuit Judges Association and served as an elected member of the Board of Leadership Birmingham from 2004-2007. In addition, he is a member of the Birmingham and Alabama State bar associations. HON. SCOTT DONALDSON has served on the bench of the 6th Judicial Circuit Court, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, since 2003. Prior to taking office, he practiced law for more than 18 years and was a member of the State Bar Commission and the Disciplinary Commission. Judge Donaldson teaches advanced evidence at the National Judicial College and trial advocacy at the University of Alabama School of Law. He has written several legal articles and frequently speaks at continuing legal and judicial education conferences on various topics. Judge Donaldson is a member of the Criminal Pattern Jury Instructions Committee and other committees. He is a Fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation. HON. JOHN H. ENGLAND JR. is a Circuit Court Judge with the 6th Judicial Circuit Court in Tuscaloosa County. Judge England is a former Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. He was elected to two terms on the Tuscaloosa City Council, serving as chairman of the Finance Committee and the Community Development Committee. Judge England holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Tuskegee Institute, and was among the first African Americans admitted to the University of Alabama School of Law, where he earned his law degree. Judge England has held leadership positions in a variety of local and state organizations, and is the recipient of numerous awards. HON. BRIAN P. HOWELL is a Circuit Court Judge with the 7th Judicial Circuit Court for Calhoun and Cleburne counties. HON. DAVID A. KIMBERLEY is a Circuit Court Judge with the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in Etowah County. Prior to assuming his position on the bench, Judge Kimberley practiced in the areas of workers' compensation, products liability, personal injury and death, Americans With Disabilities Act and ERISA. He earned his B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Alabama. HON. TOM KING JR. is a Circuit Court Judge with the 10th Judicial Circuit Court in Jefferson County. Judge King became a Circuit Court Judge in April 2001 and was elected in 2002. Prior to his present position, Judge King practiced law for 25 years. In 2002, he received the Judge Drayton James Award from the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association. Judge King was certified in general jurisdiction by the National Judicial College in 2003. He is a retired Brigadier General, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for service in the Republic of South Vietnam. HON. CHARLES E. ROBINSON SR. is a Circuit Court Judge with the 30th Judicial Circuit, presiding in St. Clair County. Judge Robinson was appointed for Place 2 by The Honorable Governor Don Siegleman on July 1, 2001. Prior to assuming his position on the bench, Judge Robinson practiced in the areas of general civil practice before all state and federal courts, corporate law and municipal law since 1965. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Alabama and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. HON. JOHN E. ROCHESTER is the Presiding Circuit Court Judge with the 40th Judicial Circuit Court in Clay County. In 1982, Judge Rochester was appointed Municipal Court Judge for the City of Ashland, and in 1983, he was appointed Municipal Court Judge for the Town of Wedowee. He remained the city's judge until 1985, when he was appointed Clay County's first resident District Court Judge. Judge Rochester earned his B.A. degree in philosophy and political science from Auburn University, and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. MODERATOR - WALTER W. BATES is a member at the law firm of Starnes Davis Florie LLP, where he practices in the areas of personal injury (defense) and medical malpractice, while devoting 100% of his practice to litigation. Mr. Bates is a member of the Birmingham, American and Jefferson County bar associations, the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates (president-elect, Alabama Chapter), and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Alabama and his J.D. degree from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.
